Waterfront Rental House
I absolutely hate doing these write ups, I never know what to say and they take a long time, with all the research that goes into them. Then only like 10% of people who see this post will actually read it. With that said, there was some interesting info about one of the occupants of this house in particular but more on that later!
This very large but somewhat modest house is located on prime waterfront property, it has a very showy look from the outside but unfortunately the interior has seen some more recent renovations. It sits on a very large piece of property and has both a swimming pool and a tennis court which gives you an idea of how big it really is. It has three bedrooms and four bathrooms, so it is definitely not small and has a value of about $3,000,000! Looking through the older real estate photos reveals that this home once had some interesting retro decor, with a kitchen strait out of the 80s, a sunroom with pink wallpaper and matching carpet but the master bedroom was the most interesting of all with metallic flowery wallpaper and well worn blue carpet!
This was a strange one with a fair amount of furniture leftover and a lot of personal belongings, there was no shortage of things to look at. One of the more interesting finds was a photo album full of black and white photographs, probably leftover from the original owners. The other interesting find was an expired passport, with what I would assume was the name of the former renter. I looked him up and found that he was actually on an episode of Dragon's Den or Shark Tank for my American Viewers! He was there to promote his new company that appears to have failed shortly after it started. You never know what you are going to find at these places!!

It is so maddening how these places can just be abandoned just like that, but in regards to certain mysteries and finds it would be as if maybe when they had guests they designated separate bathrooms for women and men or used the house as a business retreat for employees ,that black board kind of is questionable as to the answer in the use of this property, you re so expressive with each or your discoveries. as always very intriguing.

I really wish houses like these wouldn't get torn down just to build a new house. I know it's unlikely, but I hope they renovate it instead 😞 Wishful thinking, I suppose. Would love to have seen it with the retro decor, especially the kitchen and master bedroom. I love old kitchens lmao, not sure why? My grandmother's kitchen is the same as when my dad was a kid, so maybe that helped (obvs she got a new fridge and stove haha.) Kinda want to go poking around her house now, not that it's abandoned, there's just a lot of stuff left in the attic and basement from my dad's childhood (mid 60's) and I'm naturally nosy.

Those big beautiful rooms with all the windows & fireplaces were stunning. The view. Of course that huge pool. Whoever redecorated definitely was using that bong. That bathroom was really wild. Hi James This house was OK but like you said a nice house where people brought stuff in that ruined it. I did like that blue bathroom, those tiles were cool but at first glance I didn’t think they we’re grouted tiles. I thought it was stick on sheets of what looked like tile. I like that dog hanger. I would like to get one with my cat Olivia on it. Let me ask you something, are all these Static Spaces you go into in Canada? Most of the other explorers I watch are and they are usually in Ontario. I wonder if you go outside of Canada and explore other places. Some of the other explorers do. Ontario must have a big cluster of abandoned homes. We don’t have abandoned homes around here where I live, maybe you would find one or two and if you did you go in them the cops would come and arrest you. There’s no big cluster. Back to this house, well I thought you were going to break your neck going into that creepy basement. It wasn’t worth getting hurt to see what was down there. By the way I don’t live in Canada. You might have guessed that. I live in New York State on Long Island. I wonder if you ever heard of it. Until next time James stay safe and well in those Static Spaces you explore.
@StaticSpaces

I think those were real tiles, not stick on. Yes, so far all of my videos have been from Ontario, i haven't travelled in quite a while but hopefully soon again. I have explored locations in other countries in the past though. Yes, i have heard of Long Island but i have never been there before. I can't say for sure but I would imagine there are a lot of locations in NYC and area, i know there are a lot of good ones throughout the state. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment Irene!!

I suspect this home was last used as a wedding venue if the 'Bridal Room' sign is any indication. There are many examples this redo was orchestrated by someone from the land of the tasteless with just enough money to ruin everything. Ex..... One bathroom has tile that reminds me of blue 80's pool tile which is where it belongs. ...... Ex .... The kitchen seems to have been gutted and almost cheaply replaced minus a countertop and wall of old tile...... The large upstairs room (it has some old cupboards for storage) could have been where the groom and his friend's hung out until the wedding. Ex.......I love the pink 50's tub, but what fool thought that the tub combined with the hideous mismatched gray tile, a cheap little vanity and a long blank wall looked fabulous? Wait! .... I must admit in defense of the fool ...... cleverly adding a hook and a hanging hose for hosing down multiple inebriated guests was brilliant! (I will mourn the loss of the fireplace and the doors when it is torn down.)
@StaticSpaces
@StaticSpaces 2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you!! I think the owner bought the house and decided to rent it out, there were multiple listings for it as such. The problem is that homes are so homoginised these days, everyone wants white and if it looks dated then it is no good in their eyes. At least that's what's happening here anyways. It's a sad day when homes essentially have become disposable, not too similar to Japan. And yes, i think you are right about it being used as a wedding venue as well! Thank you for the comment!!

This place been documented in the past but not your degree and we could put a picture on what happen i imagine like the film “the Sound of music” these asylum seekers left in hurry i hope the children were not learning or breathing in the chemicals of the disgusting habit of hookah and bong smoking its not good for the body. Anyway thanks for your tour the pool to me like one could swim laps with 2 beside or play pool volleyball but again that was probably back in the 80s 90s in its heyday i bet that basketball tennis court made a good marquee area for birthdays and celebrations overlooking water but i digress sad to see this one torn down but understandable...

It can be remediated but it can get expensive and you never know how extensive the damage is. You could be throwing way more money at a renovation compared to a rebuild. Also depends to some extent what building materials were used

No, don't think it was a foreclosure, i believe the last people that lived there were most likely renting and the owner probably wants to rebuild now. Thanks for the comment!!
