Nice setup Mick. One small point. In your ic code for watering your hydroponics, you didn't set a maximum pressure. This way the volume pump will keep on adding more water. Probably faster then the plants are using it. I know I will take a really really long time to get to overpressure levels. Next vid the same on Vucan ore maybe even Venus? Love your content Mick, keep it coming.

I edited out the bit where I talked about that. I could have used the hydroponics to read the pressure but i thought I could just add or remove radiators on the cooler if I need more or less.

This is so good. Thanks for all of this content! Just a small update, I built this setup and found the centrifuge has changed since. Seems the centrifuge is now a lot slower; I needed 4-6 centrifuges to keep up with the other parts of the chain (and the associated chute splits & merges) . - maybe the RPM can be adjusted? I also needed to pull the eject lever on the centrifuges (added to the device since the recording) to keep it flowing. Another tip: The connected hydroponic device will govern the timings of all the harvies. It's a good plan to replant all the rice when you have enough seeds for all rice, taking mind to deliberately plant the connected hydroponic device *last* - this keeps all the plant cycles in sync.

I'm a little confused about the programming you did for the hydroponics room at 33:00. You set both the cooler and CO2 pumps to come on with minimum thresholds, but where are the maximum thresholds to tell them when to shut off? From a programmers standpoint, (not knowing MIPS) it seems like the 2 off values are missing??? This is exactly what I needed! I just started playing the game and I finally bought a fertilized egg for $53,000 from a trader, but I don't want the chicken to die! Thanks for all the great videos! Without you and Murk, I wouldn't even know about this really awesome game! P.S. Probably a stupid Noob question, but how did you unlock/open your helmet without using the buttons under the #1 Helmet tab? Thanks
@HotblackDesiat0422 жыл бұрын
To answer your first question, he's using a single set point to turn the pumps on and off. e.g. turn cooler on if room temperature is greater than 300°K, turn cooler off if room temperature is not greater than 300°K. He loads a room value into the variable "r0", and then overwrites that variable using sgt (set greater than) and slt (set less than) commands by comparing that room value to his set point value (with the aforementioned operand). The result is that r0 will be either true (1) or false (0) based on the greater-than/less-than condition. This way r0 can then be used to turn a device on or off by setting the device on true, or setting the device on false. To answer the post script question, he is using keyboard key binds. You can find them in the game settings. Cheers!

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how many plants you use. CO2 isn't renewable in that loop. You might be able to use chickens? But I think it would just average out. Each Charcoal releases 3 Mols of CO2. Or rather, it depends on the plant you use. The plant has to finish growing and be harvested within 625 seconds. Only rice(340 sec) and barely Ferns (616 sec) achieve that goal. And that's assuming you are harvesting all 100% of them. Only harvest half of them, and you get only 312.5 seconds to achieve that goal. And of course, this is assuming all 100% of that biomass is going to charocoal, 0% going to the nitrogen. Now, add in fertilizer, and you may be able to achieve that goal. But since Harvie's can't fertilize and Aime's can only Mine, that will require you to fertilize all your plants. Now taking that into account, this is still really impressive. Links for reference: stationeers-wiki.com/Fertilizer and stationeers-wiki.com/Charcoal

There is also CO2 from the H2 combustor and from the player. Could add a GFG for more power and more CO2.

Interesting set up Mick. But I will admit I am a bit confused about one thing. It was said in the past if there's no atmosphere then the radiators would not be able to cool since there is no way to transfer the heat from the radiator to the atmosphere since it can't be done in a vacuum environment. So my question is, how can the radiators cool if if the atmosphere is a vacuum?
@cowsareevil75142 жыл бұрын
Radiators will not work in a vacuum room, but they will work in a vacuum outside. They convect heat in atmosphere and radiate heat in a vacuum.

Is there a link to either a video or the MIPS for your filter code? I've been using a pipe sensor and IC to just turn on/off my filters when pressure and ratio(gas) are high enough to bother, but having the filters do it themselves would be nice.
Would you be willing to put up the world file for this? I would love to study it closer. Also are you planning on doing another play through on any of the harder starts with all the changes?

I know it's a sandbox game but did you just beat it (minus the mining) in a little over an hour of video? I can't tell if you did this in one sitting but judging by the cuts I'd say you did. IC code was done in real time and very easy to follow as well.
@cowsareevil75142 жыл бұрын
Let's call it sustainable survival. It was about a 6 hour session and Mimas is reasonably easy. There is still a lot of balancing to make sure the right quantities of gas are produced but if you were on a server you could quite happily log off now and be safe.

The devs are definitely onto you, the most recent beta patchnote "Fixed bug where thing could input through a ChuteFlipFlopSplitter and ChuteJunction output. Reject items moving through non-input connections." Commented so people know the junction trick you used with the harvies will be broken after the next patch.

I am sure that note made sense to the person who wrote it. I am hoping that means that the junctions can be replaced with the spiltters and still work the same but I guess we will find out soon enough. The next update is looking good.
