Stationeers No AC Venus 12 Rules are meant to be broken

With the completion of the cool room I now need to get the cool distributed around the rest of the base. The existing uncontrolled cooler has to be removed as the room gets too cold and a regulated cooler put in place. To do all of this I will need to enlist the help of that who will not be mentioned (don't look at the thumbnail).
30 days to set up and expand the cooling to be fully functional ready for pressurising the rest of the base. Of course it would take longer if you were doing all of the mining and not cheating like I was. If you were doing a survival, it could be better to set up AC units sooner to help with regulating the temperatures during the setup but everyone has their own way of doing things.
But that is the end if this series and AC units are still effective on Venus with a little help from the winterspawn.

Your Bluehouse is still getting to cold. Because Your pollutant is -25Celsius at end of the video, so the ac in bluehouse lost alot of it´s efficiency teh temperature was only 14Celsius. I would suggest you build a pipe heater for your pollutant tank with a IC to heat it to 0Celsius. It sucks a bit energy at the moment but as the Base grows and you cool more rooms the IC shut the pipe heater only on if needed. Or to save Energy use Heat of Venus and use big Radiator with pump and one way valve and an IC. I think so you could hold the efficiency high on all AC Units.

I would have to argue that if my coolant line is at -25 then the efficiency of the bluehouse is working just fine. As I expand the base and start cooling more rooms the temperature of the pollutant will rise.

@@cowsareevil7514 you understud me a litte bit wrong the bluehouse is efficient, it is cold, only the AC in the room lose it's efficency and is not able to hold your set 20 degree. IT was only able to hold 14 degrees, because of the coold Coolant. But still nice Work and for me ist IS a No AC Run. You use them only as Transport medium Not as a real AC.

This was the plan from the start. AC is part of the solution, not the whole solution. AC only on Venus is almost useless. AC+winterspawn is very good on Venus.

Do you think you could accomplish this after the farming update?, I am doing right now a winterspawn farm and they are taking foreeeeeever to grow, they are surviving because I am babysitting the greenhouse with a portable AC, lots of days ingame and they still didn't generated cold.

@@cowsareevil7514 that is fair of you in all honesty, it is a good way to store the excess cooling. I can think of other ways to keep the 20c throughout the base, and ways to make enough heat to keep your plants alive if needs be and really, outside of keeping plants and base to a habitable temperature, what other apications actually are there for having supercooled gas in the game? I mean it's not that useful, what needs to be that cold (under 0)? Having a buffer is... Well... Cool, but you can do that with mols of water at 20c, a huge tank of x at 20c in a frame enclosed room filled with x to 100000MPA at 20c...🤷‍♂️ I had higher expectations of you Mick! Should have stuck to your guns, (but I know you can laugh in the face of some people the way you have done it, regardless, so I forgive you nethertheless.)

So mentally stepping through this I feel like I'm missing something. You're trying to keep two rooms currently connected to each other with passive vents at ~20c and have a literally limitless pool of thermal energy outside. Why not connect a gas to gas heat exchanger to pipe bridging the two with a valve to control if the gas can circulate to the heat exchanger? The only problem I can see is excess gas between the heat exchanges and the control valve making the gas in the pipe excessively hot but you could void it with a backpressure valve easily enough. I'm not sure what I'm missing, what's the virtue of the cold tank when ultimately all you need to do is bring in heat?

Heat transfer will occur through the heat exchanger but ti is limited by the the temperatrue difference between the rooms. The AC will force the heat transfer much faster. When cooling down new rooms the coolant line can rise to over 100C wihtout causing problems to the other connected rooms except for some loss of efficency. Also storing all of the cold in the tank will allow for a surge of heat when emergency cooling after accident.

@@cowsareevil7514Appreciate it. I didn't explain my heat sinking idea correctly, I was suggesting that you could us the exterior gas to heat the combined interior gas, but having the tank as a means of dealing with surge demand would, in and of itself, justify the method you're using.

I haven't read enough about the newest plant systems but it would be so cool to have a long term experiment that, over time, exposed the plants to more and more heat to the point that eventually they can be planted in open Venusian atmosphere XD

It is a new game mechanic so there will most likely be some impossible inventions to be made. Can you change the survival temperatures enough to get the winterspawn and hades to power a Stirling generator for free.

you could have just used a digital valve in your passive radiator system in the plant room to turn on and off the cold air.. its the setup i used in my last base and worked perfectly. you could even use the same setup as a heater too.

Digital valve and passive radiator system works great on Mars for cooling. You just have to take into account the slow cooling time when programming your cooling system. I've also messed around with just leaving radiators on the outside of my base piped directly inside with a passive vent open to the inside, letting inside air circulate to the pipe outside with the radiators on it. If you get the number of radiators right it works fairly well in cooling a greenhouse. Though the temperature does swing around quite a bit.

Has anyone succeeded in using water as a thermal heatsink? I know it has some limitations in that you have the 0 degree freezing point (eventually) and the 100 degree boiling point (eventually). I'm experimenting with it on mars to regulate my base's main air mix tank temperature. I have an extendable liquid radiator that I have IC controlled to deploy when the water tank temperature gets above a certain setpoint and the outside temp is below the tank's temperature. It also doesn't deploy when the tank's temperature is at or below 5 degrees C so I don't cause the water tank to freeze. I'm kind of wondering if I'd be better off using a gas like Pollutants as the coolant medium so I can have a larger coolant temperature range. I haven't tried those cold plants at all, my Venus attempts haven't lasted long at all as the environment is so harsh I keep dieing. The suit dumping O2 to cool you is really annoying, suit needs a proper cooling system.

On Mars I just have a pipe pressurised with atmospheric gas with some radiators facing inside and some outside. The base gets warmer during the day and cooler at night. It is enough to get rid of the excess heat from the equipment but not enough to freeze the base. Experiment by adding or removing raditors to find the right balance.

I think the AC unit needs to be renamed to Heat Pump. That's a more accurate name for what it actually does. A possible improvement would be to add a gas-to-gas heat exchanger between the coolant pipe and the waste gas pipe. Since most gas in the base is going to go through there anyway and you're pulling in ultra-hot Vensuian CO2, precooling it all would be a big benefit. It doesn't need the speed of a heat pump, so just having the energy cheap heat exchanger would be useful. Precooling the CO2 this way would also help keep the greenhouse from overheating (at one point it reached 41 degrees!) when levels drop very low.

Now that the cold gas is available there are many ways to use it. I was going to do something similar in using it to regulate the gas storage on the roof. The filtration IC is already programmed for cooling so it would be simple to set up.

To be honest, this wasn't the solution I was going to do. I had something much more complicated planned until I thought of using the AC as a heater in the bluehouse. So this solution is about 2 days old and a lot better than what I had planned.

The plants dont need to be replanted anymore. After they been harvested now they re-fruit every X days depending on the plant. Faster then regrowing them from a seed.
