Thanks for sharing! What a collection! I suddenly feel not so guilty about my little notebook hoard; it’s good to know I’m not alone in my addiction 😂

Beautiful, beautiful collection of memories. I welled up (got a bit tearful) when you said you sometimes rubbed dirt or tree bark into your notebooks. Lovely, organic way to revisit a moment.

The big thick cotton page book would be interesting to know more about and how it handles an ink drawing or a light watercolor wash.

It is currently empty so I could definitely do a video testing it out, thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

Wow, this is a lot of Field Notes :D You made me thought about a thing: all of your notebooks look like you spend time when choosed them. They are all nice designs and quality. So I thought, why I had been buying the very cheap random notebooks for about 10 years of my life? This is some self love thing. You buy a cheapest piece of paper for not important things, why I did this for my thoughts and life things? This is some thing to think about. On the other hand, about a year ago I bought the official Bullet Journal v2 and I ended up not writing in it much because of it's too high value. I mean price too, x10 price of the regular dotted notebook. I bought a regular one too for "not so important" things to write down and the Bullet Journal stopped to be a bullet journal, a place for everything. So guys. Do love yourselves. Buy yourselves the things you will love and appreciate, cause you will spent the time of your life - with it.

This is so fun to watch. I really adore the scuffed up Field Notes ones, where the design on the cover has slightly faded from use. Makes it reminiscent of old adventure novels that's just constantly read all the time

The scuffed up ones are the best! Thanks for watching!

It's very satisfying to watch you sort your notebooks! Other than the numbers on the covers, do you use any kind of indexing system to help you find data within? Or is the info on the pages not the type you would need to refer to once the book is complete and no longer carried? Most of my info is the latter, but every now and then I need some bit from a previous book, and finding it requires paging through all the books I think it's in. That's not unpleasant (in fact, it's usually fun), unless I'm in a hurry.

5:52-5:53 is the mountain I grew up around. I was excited when I found out Field Notes included it in their parks collection. Also, this appropriately came out on the day that I'm moving all of my stuff around, too! Notebooks for future stories: all of the "odd shaped" or "odd sized" ones. Where you got them, what about them caused you to decide to get them, would you return to where you got them from in order to find another/different notebook (imagine distance, country, finances are not a consideration for this) Perhaps describe a scene in which you could see yourself writing in them. Ty for the video!

Nice - I'd love to visit Mt Rainer (and all the other national parks on the FN set) Thanks for the suggestions on the future videos, great ideas! And thanks for watching!

That collection is glorious! I thought I have a lot of notebooks but compared to you, I’ve got some (a lot) catching up to do. 😅 I may just have ordered a few more Field Notes, I currently have only three and am on the last one.

Never too many notebooks! So nice that you’re starting your Field notes journey, which was the pack you started with?
@tuija21 Жыл бұрын
@@BlankFirstPage I do agree, that there's no such thing as "too many notebooks"! I have the Shenandoah pack from 2015, it's pretty. While planning my pocket-size bujo/journal setup for this year, I was delighted to find one of them unused. It fits perfectly! Now I'm waiting for a "Group Eleven" set and some basic kraft ones to arrive.

@tuija21 that Shenandoah edition is fantastic! One of their best.

I'd like to hear more about the thick notebook with brown leather cover at 8:28. What do you use it for? Easy to carry, experiences.... Thank you.
@BlankFirstPage Жыл бұрын
That one's actually my wife's - she had bought it as a sketch book but it is still empty! It's got great paper in it, very thick which I think would be good for watercolours. A bit too thick to carry around unless you've got a bag, and it doesn't lay down flat very easily. It's a great aesthetically pleasing notebook but I don't think super user friendly - I'll have to try it out and report! Thanks for watching!

Amazing collection. I was wondering about the notebooks that make their apperance at 0:50, the ones with the white band. They look handmade, are they?
@BlankFirstPage Жыл бұрын
Yes indeed they are - I got them as a gift, they're made by a bookbinder in Malta!

Have you ever used the "FIELD BOOK"? They are very similar and cheaper here in the states. Thoughts on them?

What are the notebooks at 03:40? With the stripped band? They look cool! (Well, all of them do, but those got my attention even more). Thanks for sharing!
@BlankFirstPage Жыл бұрын
They are Fabriano notebooks from a few years ago, I think they still make similar notebooks with similar coloured bands. Thanks for watching!
@stationery.shenanigans Жыл бұрын
@@BlankFirstPage Oh ok, cool, thanks! We have Fabriano art paper here, it's more common than their notebooks. Some stores now sell the Fabriano Eco-something (I forget what they're called) and I plan to try one soon!

@fmrtn691011 ай бұрын
Do you have some kind of index? Or how do you find information that is several notebooks ago?
@BlankFirstPage11 ай бұрын
I do not, I rely on my mostly ok memory of knowing when I took a note and the associated field notes notebook I had at the time. There’s often the case where I can’t find it, but I know roughly the timeframe I would have written it down so then it’s a matter of flipping through 2-3 pocket notebooks until I find it - something I’m very happy to do!

I'm a new subscriber and am enjoying binge watching your videos... it would seem you don't like the leather or other sleeves that you can put notebooks in, any reason why?
@BlankFirstPage Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Yes I intentionally don’t use any type of sleeve because I like the notebook to get worn and weathered, I love the character, marks and texture they develop as you use them.

Last year in 2023 I had a thing for pocket notebooks at the beginning of the year, but then as my Diary Writing Journey continued, I found that pocket sized notebooks just weren’t for me.
@BlankFirstPage11 ай бұрын
Yeah I can imagine that a pocket notebook doesn’t quite cut it for diary writing. What do you use for that now? There’s a notebook out there for everyone!
@alkunz9397 Жыл бұрын
Why don't you shelve them in order ? I thought I saw in a previous video that you had some on a shelf behind you.
@BlankFirstPage Жыл бұрын
When they’re shelved they’re usually in order! I do mess around with them often though so they do get out of order.
