Sounds like a great whirlwind of a day. Nothing compares to seeing all the stationary in store, and being able to get a literal feel of the product. My first Kinokuniya was Dallas/Carrolton. The cafe also looked really lovely. Thanks for sharing ! 🖤 Love the layout of the notebooks you got- that visual breakup of the page can make it a lot easier for me to fill out and use.

That's definitely why I like to visit a store every few months, it's the quickest way to understand what products are new and trendy! I'm planning on using these notebooks for projects I have to do over the next few weeks for my PhD, I hope the visual breakdown will help me manage it (LOL). Thanks for joining me!

You're right, that IS the law and some people just don't seem to realise it. Great haul and enjoying those old skool vibe notebooks.

I'm feeling very 70s/80s old school vibes lately haha. And yes, you can never have too many pens or notebooks, I am a follower of the law and can't contest that :D

Ugh I wish you were able to have some stores closer! Or your next trip you can plan it around a stationery store which is something I do haha.

@@stationery.shenanigans Definitely whenever I visit family in California I spend way too much on stationery stocking up and try to coerce everyone to go to places with cool stationery shops 🤣🤣🤣 The cool thing is that there are stationery shops here in Italy but like schools supplies which we always need to go to for my kids. When you need like one pencil, one eraser or whatever. It’s sort of cool too 😍

Hi Amber!!! It's been so long, I hope you are doing ok! Maybe St. Louis Art Supply? I've seen their website, not sure if they have an in-person store? Also Walmart, Target, and Dollar Tree have really been upping their stationery game!

I only wish they had sample books open so you could flip through the pages! I think the prices are going to keep me out for 2025...

@@stationery.shenanigans Yes they are quite expensive! :( This year I just went with a second-hand 2024 one, and I am going to re-date all the pages. I am also interested in trying out a Kinbor planner at some point. They seem almost as nice with a very similar layout. And much cheaper! :D

So many companies are increasing prices but lowering quality and customer service like we don't notice....

Thanks for watching! This is in a suburb to the northeast of the city, but there are a LOT of Korean/Japanese restaurants, stores, cafes etc there if it's something you enjoy! I usually go twice a year to get my fix lol

I was at this store over a week ago. Stop by every couple of months. It’s in John’s Creek. The Hobonichi items are more expensive compared to pre pandemic. Everything is more expensive. I love visiting this store. Great fountain pen and ink selections.

I was really intrigued by the Fonte fountain pens which are customizable, I never saw them before! And yes while I'm in the area I like to go to H Mart, Korean coffee shops, and Japanese restaurants :)

I'm going to have to make a trip to Atlanta when I visit Birmingham next summer. It's only a few hours away.

Depending on which way you're traveling, there is also a cute Japanese store in Chattanooga called I Go Tokyo. There is SO Much to do in Atlanta!

Also I had the BEST dining experience of my life at a restaurant in Birmingham called Galley & Garden - pricey but so worth it. (I sometimes have to go to Birmingham for my job)

@@stationery.shenanigans I fly from where I am (Utah) to Birmingham. But Chattanooga is only a few hours away so... Might have to visit there too :)
