As a single man I’d say nothing is off limits for me. If I like it and can afford it then I’m gunna get it. If someone who comes over has an issue they can leave whenever they want. Now if I had kids I’d keep my collection in a designated room where they had zero access. The last thing I’d want is to worry about my stuff being destroyed while I wasn’t at home. You shouldn’t worry about what anyone else thinks while you’re in your own home.

My personal opinion is that it is only art, you can go to museums etc around the world and they have things like David, Venus De Milo etc so nudity has been in art for a very long time and the statues in question are only scantily clad, and lets face it these days you go to the beach and some of the beach wear does not leave a lot to the imagination.

I say; it's my money and my house and if I don't want people to see it I just won't allow them to see my collection. As about a riskee I would have it if I have no kids but I wouldn't buy it because it won't match my collection in general

I have SS Dejah Thoris and have NO regrets about owning it or shame in displaying it. We all collect what we like and I like sexy women, so shoot me. I am not changing who I am just so other people feel comfortable or less squeamish. particularly in my own home. Don't like it? jog on.

I don't feel awkward having a half-naked (or even naked) female statue on display. But, I also collect anime figures and some of those female characters look very young. I feel awkward having sexy figures of young girls.

What crosses the line when collectors obsess or compliment female statues more than their significant other. I can’t imagine how some wives or girlfriends hear their male counterparts talking about how sexy a statue is. I guarantee some collectors talk more about how sexy or hot some statues and/or celebrities are then compliments they give to their female counterparts. Sad.

I had to test the waters with my wife. I bought Red Sonja with snake base and she loved it. Dejah came next and now any statue is a go except nudity. God I love my wife. 😂

I have a wonderful wife who always knew who I was. I never hid my liking for science fiction and horror thrillers as well as comic art and Bernie Wrightson. I own a lot of Red Sonia statues as well as the prime one Vampirella and I can see where some people would be afraid to add that to their collection as it would cause some internal family controversy. I’m totally understanding with that. I think what does help is that if it’s a known character out in the world just like Sonia or Vampirella. I could see if it’s an original character such as sideshows horror line, it might be a little bit more of a tougher sell. Pop cultural characters kind of get a pass from my experience. I do believe people will be people and guys will be guys and admiring a nice sculpture regardless of what form it is whether it’s a male or female, should be considered human. We have been doing it since the beginning of time. Maybe just don’t put it on the dining room table. Maybe it’s not a common thing but sex and the human body was never something I shied away from with friends and family. Especially when you’re into fantasy art.

A sexy statue that has class is great, i would find some of the anime girl statues wayy more creppy to have displayed around kids or my parents, they look like 12 year olds in bikinis, I'll never ever understand the appeal of those???but whatever. And I like horror, but something that's overly gross, with say their insides being ripped out, those are probably something i just wouldn't wanna display

Hey Chris I'm single but my grandsons come over quite often and I'd just feel wierd to have scantily clad women around and I'm sure they would feel the same so its a not for me.I do have the Sun goddess from Frazetta and a Dawn statue thats almost to much so I'm probably parting with them for more Batman statues of course lol.bye the way Happy belated Birthday!!I just had mine also!

O naw, imma do my damnist to get tht vampirella statue. All the blood drip down her and the biting and grabbing 😂😂😂😂. It to gorgeous. I wouldn't say I'm a vampirella fan, but I'm a hugh vampire fan. I want to see the artist at work like they did with the batgirl figure. Seeing tht vid made me appreciate there work even more

If kids/family/friends have an internet connection then that’s what’s risque! A lot more vulgar things on the internet than what’s in our hobby that’s for sure! If someone’s is offended by painted rock that’s there issue, look at Ancient Greece lot of nude statues around the place back then, yet society is more vulgar now more than ever. Just my take

As long as it's not overly-gratuitous (ie: blatant sex acts or Hustler poses), and is in line with the character's history/characterization, then I'll display it. If I think someone might be uncomfortable with it, or if young people will be present, then I'll put it out of sight before they arrive. We're all adults, we know what the parts look like, and it's our money. So if someone is uncomfortable with it, I'll try to accommodate them (it's a temporary arrangement, no biggie), but otherwise, it's there for my enjoyment.

Lets be honest, if you have a nude statue or barely-covered statue on display and wouldnt feel any awkwardness when visitors or family come by, you might just be a psycopath. Nothing wrong with that, but most people raised in western nations arent going to proudly display pieces that will have others question whether you are unnaturally obsessed with sex and beauty. We can all admire these risque statues, but having them in your face everyday might reflect on your reputation, if not your character. If you dont care what others think, then congrats on the positives of that mindset, hopefully they outweigh the negatives for you.

I have a ( very understanding ) GF for almost 6 years now. But we do live seperated. So I live single in my appartement. She really likes my collection and is also interested in everything that I collect. In my opinion female superheroes should be pretty and beautiful. And I do have a full wall of Michael Turner framed art prints, because he is my favorite artist. His artstyle of females is sexy for sure. But oversexualized or nude is were I drew the line. Just like those oversexulaized and nude art commission. No that is not something that I collect. But everyone should offcourse collect what they like.

Succubus doesn’t seem very risqué to me. As far as you feeling awkward about the possibility of owning a “risqué” statue. Do you think your wife will walk in on you with your pants down looking at statues? I think not, or at least hope not. 🤣 However, if you do, remind me never to buy a statue from you. It’s the same reason no one buys secondhand porn. Nobody wants to worry about what happened to it beforehand or have to run a blacklight through it.🤣 As far as you feeling awkward about people’s judgment about your collection, it shouldn’t matter. Although I understand your reasoning and sentiment, because we all want to be wrong and try to be accepted by our groups and society at large. At the end of the day, you have to be true to yourself and your principles, morals, and values. Forget about everyone else’s opinions about you. You can respect them, but that doesn’t mean you have to follow them.
