One of their most epic tunes, if not the top one of all. That’s of course subjective. Layne was actually quite healthy here- prob doing lots of recreational drugs, but it was before his heroin addiction. Which in the end did him in. But his vocals reflected that pre-addiction state: strong + powerful. He wrote the lyrics about a girl who was prob his true love. They shared all sorts of times, good & bad & hard, together. She ended up passing away due to a heart infection caused by her own drug use. People say after that Layne just gave up inside. She was the love of his life. But I like to think we can all find that in this world.
