I don’t care if I wasn’t alive when he was I care about him so much he was a beautiful soul and deserved the world. I’ve always been a fan of movies from the 80s no matter who was in them of what they were about. I constantly think about River and how he had so much more to accomplish. I love this tribute so much and it really got me thinking of how precious life is and how loved River was. He left before we got to say goodbye. Rip River, for you are missed.😪🙏❤️

This song fits him so well it almost hurts... he took care of those he loved, he put others first and fought for human rights, animal rights and peace. He hated the fame and the paparazzi, and everything superficial about Hollywood but we recognized that his career depended on him going along with it. Sadly he passed away so so young. Even amazing people get caught up, but I'll always remember him in the final scene of stand by me, or in running on empty and even his appearances on family ties. What made him special as an actor is hard to explain but its the same that made him great as a person and also fragile in a certain way, and now after more than 20 years a legend. R.I.P Rio

I grew up with a film student for a sister. When she was my age she used to tell me about river and his movies and how great he was. Now I’m studying film, and making it my job to spread the word of River Phoenix to other teenagers who seem to have never learnt about him. He is someone who has furthered my passions and been detrimental to my evolution into young-adulthood. I miss him today, and can’t even begin to imagine what that’s like for the people who had the pleasure of knowing him. Thanks for this edit; it’s beautiful

Since I remembered that River died on October 31st, for me Halloween is no longer a day of celebration but of pain and deep sadness, because it is the anniversary of his death, it marks his first day of death and his eternal absence. For the longest time, my dream has always been to become an actress, and his performances in Running on Empty and My Own Private Idaho have truly inspired me to pursue and dedicate myself to getting an acting career. It really hurts. No words could express how i feel about him and how i am sorry for him. He deserved all the love of the world. I didn't knew him, i wasn't even born when he died but oh... Deep inside I know that if he would here, with us, breathing and alive, he would have made this world much better than it is today. He was one of the kindest men, even if he wasn't as purest everybody claimed. If he was this person, his darkness didn't kill him by druges and sadness. Life has given you so much in your few years of life but it has betrayed you, it has not granted you the most precious thing that exists: Life itself.
