Well done Robert.... yes, it is a feeling. Not everybody gets that feeling or embraces that feeling. It comes with constraints. Work with, and around those constraints.

Good video. I don't hunt hogs, but I hunt deer here in Indiana. The 2022 / 2023 season found me hunting a certain buck I really wanted. I only hunt with a bow. That season was a grind. But at the very last couple minutes of light, on the very last eve of season, I killed that buck. He's on the wall now. He's the "motivational buck." He reminds me that it ain't over until it's over. He reminds me not to whine about my hunting problems, but to press on, find solutions, to not stop until the season is over. And if you aren't successful that season, ( such as this past season),start putting in the scouting work the day after it ends! I commend you for chasing critters with a longbow!

I like the bowhunters prayer that was in Trad Bowhunter years ago. I was falling into getting aggravated last season and then I got hurt this season. I'm not upset. That left me home more to help take care of my wife's mother with her. We are caregivers for her (memory care). I believe God will heal my injury this off season and I'll be back at it in Sept. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. God bless Robert

Yeah I live in Central Florida and there's a WMA close to me and I have sit there just about every day I hunt and never see anything then one day you will be sitting there and look over here comes a buck it does wear on you for sure I could probably get down and find a better place but then I have to worry about walking in on someone as long as no one is walking in on me I'm OK and just enjoy being outdoors

Great video i like to have all day to hunt when i hunt. Need to shoot every day if you can. I used to do this even when iworked three arrows in the dark and gather my arrows when i got home from work. God has sent a lot of game my way in life. That i have taken with a recurve. The bible says if we trust in the Lord he will give us the desires of our heart. Im looking forward to hunting with that longbow bow thats coming . But the journey continues and as you say put the good Lord first and we will give God the glory

I am in Florida 34654 and not many acorns around my place this year! No pigs this year but a good number of deer. I when thru about a 1000 lb of corn. I wish FWC would let us use bait on WMA , It would put more hunters in the woods and it would not hurt a thing. Just my two cents Robert good luck on all your hunting adventures!😁

its always a mindset as well as a heart set. You can whine about your joints hurting as you draw and shoot but then watch some person drawing their bow using their teeth because they don't have a hand. Anybody can whine, some do it nonstop but it takes some self control not to. The catch in anything is to figure out what ain't working and to quit doing that but try something different to get different results. And yes, our Lord already provides and blesses us a lot more than we deserve. Red Skelton used to end his shows with "May God bless you" because he didn't want to put any demands on God. Yes, many pray demanding for self, not exactly what He wants to hear from us. Great video my Brother

Robert over my way farm land was replaced with pines. When the pines reach the 10-12 year old they are great hunting. Nutgrass is in them and pigs love nutgrass! Very quite walking and very easy to spot even the spotted hogs😉

I agree fully on what is right to pray for. Strength, courage, wisdom, patience. I pray for things like that but not for the kill. When I was young and pretty poor, I’m certain I prayed for any deer to put in the freezer 😂. Never starved to death, must have heard me.

Mr. Carter I really enjoyed this video. I just found you on KZbin and subscribed to your channel. I didn't get any game this season and have been down about it. This whole season the woods that I hunt have been dead. Nothing moved, not even squirrels. I have bow hunted since I was 12 and am now 51. I haven't been this discouraged about hunting in a long time as I was depending on getting at least 2 deer. I guess I will try my luck at hogs. Thanks for the tips and advice. What kind of longbow do you shoot?

@@robertcarte95it's slow, but tracking animals is way easier with a lot of foliage. Open spaces with broken twigs all over the earth is hard to track in.
@larryadams21842 ай бұрын
It's not always about killing the animal part of the game is the way I see it is being in God's nature being in the woods it just trying to be stealthy enough to get close enough to one of these critters is to me one of the main things why I like doing it now I hunt with muzzleloaders all the time custom-made flintlocks and I enjoy getting close making sure my scent is gone and getting this close to those animals as possible can I get busted all the time when I was in the woods

The deer and turkeys have just disappeared in the last 10 to 15 years where I live I don't know what has happened we don't have hogs evev management areas that are 20 are 30 miles from me have no game squirrels are even hard to find I know quite a few hunters that think the same as me the only thing I can think of is the limit on does is one a day from Nov to Feb just too many being killed people are killing a lot of button bucks that have no antlers the game commission should change some laws. Thank you if you read my rant
