Ken Nordine narrates. The greatest of voice-over actors.

Try reading the book: "Command and Control: Nuclear Weapons, the Damascus Accident, and the Illusion of Safety". It will make your hair stand on end when you realize just how close we've been to disaster - and just how often.

The narrator talks about the chance of an accident being virtually nonexistent. The year after this film came out a B-52 crashed and all but one safety device failed on a pair of 2.4 megaton bombs.

But.... That last one didn't fail. Really though, nothing is full proof plain and simple.

One of the bombs went through it's entire arming sequence to the point of sending the detonation signal to the core. It was only stopped because the safe/arm switch was still set to "safe". The second bomb's switch was found set to "arm" and it could have easily been shorted out.

But it didn't. That's the point of the safety devices. They did their job perfectly, did they not?

They are un-armed so if a few accidentally falls out of the plane they won't wipe out Spain...but who needs Spain anyway!...I wish I was joking about the bombs accidentally falling out of the plane...and Spain, you have great Tempranio!
