It's fascinating to hear how McMurtry puts his songs together. What a great talented songwriter.

Aught Three is fricking awesome Live in Europe is also great great great Interesting to hear James talk about his songs, his writing and his take on music business. And he's got the same ring on his phone that wakes me up every day Superb playing on his own too ... Delaware is lyrical and brilliant Choctaw is great fun and full of clever lines and Roscoe .... Ruby and Carlos is an absolute classic - such economy of language but a brilliant evocation of painful choices and yearning, and with a lyrical poetry, few can match in any genre. Depth, power and you can't hold back that flood. His writing in unbelievably good and the Just Us Kids album is pretty damn fantastic. Hurricane Party is even better - looking for his grey striped cat. Goddamn he's a great artist and I'm thankful he's recording Great show Subscribed !

HA! You're kidding, right?? Steven King's work should've benefitted from the opportunity of quoting McMurtry! McMurtry is genius... as are most TEXAS singer/songwriters. The rest of the non-Texas musicians try to emulate them and move to Austin to try and get the vibe, but nothing seems to suffice for being a Texan... true literary artists. Nashville is for the vapid hayseeds that want to suck up to the hokey morons who trot across the grand ol' opry stage. As always, all roads lead to Texas. I picked choctaw bingo on a juke box in a small crowd of hipsters. Their response was saracastic at at best. Fuck them lol
@brandonthompson84115 жыл бұрын
Ya, you can see that with most artists, but he, like most professional musicians seem to find the strength they need to get their music out there because deep down that’s why they do what they do. If I wrote Choctaw bingo I would sing it every day, every where because I would want people to hear it.
