In 1960, Maurice Williams was only 15 years old when he wrote this song and performed and recorded it with his band, "The Zodiacs." He said it was a very quick write since it actually occurred as he was trying to get his girlfriend to go home by 10pm so as not to get in trouble with the parents. The Hollies first charted with the song in the UK in 1963 at #8 on the UK Singles Chart. Also in 1963 The Four Seasons released their version on their album "Ain't That a Shame and 11 Others" The original recording had a resurgence after being on the soundtrack album for the movie "Dirty Dancing" and reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. By 1990 the record had sold over 8 million copies. I hope you will enjoy my 'flashback" version, and I thank you so much for listening.
