5 Games Made in Godot - NEW 2025 Format

Okay. My thoughts on the format. I usually watch these episodes while I'm at work. So the short 5 minute format made it easy to catch in between loads. This new format is going to make that harder. However, I LOVE it! Edit: Also #1!

Yeah, would appreciate both. Both keeping the shorter format for weekly tips of 5 games, as well as this longer news and tips show, but I'd rather they were separate.

Love the new format! Azo's comment gives me an idea though. What if you structured them so you could easily clip each mini-segment into a youtube short? That way you could also do the 'weekly community post' that just links to the shorts playlist sorted by newest? :D

@@viksa398: Yes, but I usually consume shorter vids during the day, and spare the longer format vids for later. And if I've already watched it, skipping just for the 5 games, then I won't get it recommended for watching the rest of the video later, so I would have to save or bookmark it each time. I guess everyone uses KZbin differently, so each to his own.

I like this new format and even though it is longer I just skip the parts of lesser interest which is quite easy thanks to the video being subdivided into chapters. I found the #2 Dorpie to be most interesting - keep up the good work :o)

You are a treasure, this is fantastic. I don't know how I like the format as of yet, I think I'd prefer to have the weekly news/tips separate from the weekly games. I'd watch both videos. I love this format. News + updates + showcase. You could even have a round-up at the end of the month called "Monthly showcase of 20 godot games" where you splice only the showcases together, if someone wants to only see those... I mean, I don't intend to randomly give you more work - I am hoping this gives you more subscribers, with relatively little extra work (just paste the same exact edited footage, maybe just editing the numbers that appear). Or if you want you could also rank them... anyways, new format is great. I'm all for it.

Great episode, the year started already hard to vote, All 5 games looks amazing, and is hard to pick one between #2, #3, #4 , but the #4 wins to me, looks like what a Sonic game in 3D should be. speed and "drifts". pretty cool look.

Regarding the global script with the color: you can also just create a const-variable in any script which will automatically be global to any other script. This works for all the datatypes, also colors

Number 1. About the new format, I like it and it’s better to catch up with more things. On the other hand in the future I think it would make more sense to have a dedicated video only for the Godot News and plugins and keep this one only for the games to give them more visibility

Just my two cents, I think I would prefer the new segments as a separate video. I clicked on your video because I love your content and knew what I was getting into, but the 13 minute length does make it less enticing (anecdotally, I prefer 5-8 minute videos unless I know the creator / am in the mood for "long-form" content. damn internet stole all my patience). I don't hate the new format! I just think the tips would compliment your content better if they're a separate video from the games of the week. Happy New Year!

My 2 cents opinion on the new format. Like every changes, we have to get used to it, change habits, so at first it would be not confortable. Like lots of people here, I usually got used to a short quick news on the 5 games that inspire you, quick to digest. But...this format is really really nice in the mood. Really perceived as "news I need to check" every week, and don't miss big news like the current updates, etc... This tip is also very nice and useful. So in the end, took me more time than the 5 games of the week, but I learned many things, so that was worth it. Waiting for the next weeks, to see if I get used to it confortably. NB : this week 5 games are really high level, in my opinion...I feel that the global level is getting higher and higher. Really good stuff to see the potential of the game engine. And also that there are a lot of talented people in this community
