I'm so glad you were able to get away! How long has it been? A LOT of people think the most dangerous time for a woman to escape her abuser, is just that day.. or the following few days. But depending on how psychotic and justified they believe they are at getting rid of you, that critical dangerous timeframe can be weeks, months or even years. I recently came across a story of a young man who just lost his mom. He started noticing someone was desecrating her grave with human waste so he put up a hidden camera. Sure enough, here comes his dad, whom his mom escaped DECADES ago! STILL hating her even after death! That will be my ex guaranteed. I found out the hard way when after he became abusive, and controlling in ways you mentioned, (he was also having an affair) he had the man I had every right to move on with killed. AND he got away with it! It's so awful what a lot of us women go through. Especially the judgment and ostracizing from the community, as if something like this would NEVER happen to them, their daughters, or their mothers. Unreal the amount of power and control they have. But yes please be safe and aware. Hope your dog is still around cause it's probably one of the only true friends you got. They even turn your own family against you! Stfu, it's not always easy for domestic violence victims to just leave and start over somewhere else. There's money to consider, also the consideration that the abuser will find and end the victim. You can't tell a victim to "run with your life". Some have children and fear the custody outcome. There was a case I've seen that a husband was incredibly abusive and still got equal custody and the courts looked at the victim as crazy for wanting to keep her kids away from their abusive father. His abuse turned to his children. When the mother went to pick up the kids (she didn't have help with someone to pick them up to keep her away from her abuser for her) he threw her down some stairs and shot her. I believe her kids made it, but there are other cases where the father kills the children as revenge or another way to hurt the victim. If you want to tell other people this then go yourself and find true crime stuff that showed the episodes of abusive partners, there were tons of abusive husbands that they talked about ending their wife's life and sometimes both the mother and the children.

Took me 4 years but I did it. I left my abusive bf and am in much worse condition because of it. I am financially ruined and will not recover on my own for a while. This is why people choose to stay. Life can get so much worse if you leave because you built something together and not everything can be split evenly. Of course it's important to put yourself first, take care of your mental health. Anyone would "just leave" if they could. But chances of finding a house on your own are slim. And surviving off of a single full time job has become increasingly difficult too. People stay for those kinds of things.

I saw this case on the series "Married to Evil." Olivia was an extremely intelligent young lady who was very business savvy and extremely driven. She is the reason Chris' food truck business was taking off. That was one of the things Chris felt threatened by was the fact that she was making more money than him and how she was very goal oriented. He was fired from the prison because he beat up a prisoner pretty bad; that's why he had to figure a different means of employment. This was truly one of thee most saddest cases I've seen of extreme control, intimidation, verbal and mental abuse. He controlled her so much that he did not even allow Olivia's family to their wedding. Her oldest daughter urged her mother to leave, but she wanted to fight for her marriage. I'll never understand how someone could bring harm to a person who has done nothing but show unconditional love to them. Heartbreaking! 💔

That’s the point. And many cops are aware of the fact that CCTV is increasingly used by abusers to monitor their victim inside the home. When I was living with my abusive ex years ago, before the physical abuse started, he had a psychotic episode and I called 911, one of the cops in particular who showed up noticed the cameras my ex had inside the home all over the place and recognized what it was long before I did. He stood there and told me this is not a good situation and you need to get out of here before this gets worse. I've been married to my wife since I'm 19 years old. We've had major disagreements and we almost separated once before. I would never, in a million years, wish harm on a person I loved. Let alone the person I chose to marry. It does not matter what they do. I chose to spend the rest of my life with my wife, and we're in a much healthier place now because we both live by the vows we made to one another. We will not give up on one another, even in the darkest of times and the hardest of strains; we will work and rebuild so long as we are faithful to one another. This is pure evil and the men that could do this to their wives aren't men. They're cowards who cannot control their emotion.
@Woodman-Spare-that-tree12 күн бұрын
His daughter’s behaviour shows you how that family cannot control themselves. If that’s their culture, it’s not a desirable one.
@eatp8nt12 күн бұрын
We don't know how old you are so using the age you were when you got married means very little. Should have said I got married to my wife at 19 (now 56) or whatever age you are because for all as know you're 20 and have only been married a year.
@UBwalkswiththeKing12 күн бұрын
@Woodman-Spare-that-tree WOW! What exactly do you mean with this racist and stereotypical statement? Troll much? I guess you wouldn't react if your mother was murdered. I think that's called a psychopath. Shame on you for this thought, let alone typing it out.

Literally. It was my dad and my sister (as far as I’m aware, but I wouldn’t go and put myself in close quarters w my brother 😅). Dad did that shit to my mom, and my sister did it to me (took me two years of living with her to realize she is that (after knowing her for 20yrs)). Will also probably go back bc I take care of her children and kind of financially depend on her bc the mom ditched us and took the youngest and ran off with a man she’s known for six months and left me w the dad. And it was, to another state she ran. Now she’s a drunk, and gives him all her money, including child support. (She also manipulated me into “getting rid of” papers that would let the dad fight for the youngest, so. Still don’t know how to feel ab that and it’s been a few years.) It’s just. Really disturbing. These people (the hardcore narcissists). Sinister and disgusting and evil and reprehensible and demonic. Truly, particularly what I went through with my sister-I am not religious, but all I can think of to describe what happened, is demonic. It would be the end of me if these people weren’t related to me and had some kind of fucked up sense of family. 😬
