I’m actually checking in to Grand Floridian this Friday, Black Friday, and I’ll be checking out on Sunday! I’ll be staying in one of the new resort studios with a theme park view! I’ll be celebrating my birthday month a week early! It’s part of my birthday present from my Aunt who is a DVC member!

I’m happy they have ADA access. My brother is in a wheel chair and needs a big bathroom but I’m worried about the tub. He can’t step over a tub. It’s nice they have lower beds!

As someone who is physically disabled, everything about the room is perfect except for the bathroom. I appreciate the railing in the tub but as someone who occasionally uses a wheelchair and has a hard time lifting he legs a walk in shower would have been nice with a bench. That way you just wheel into the shower and it’s a lot easier because some physically disabled individuals can’t actually lift their legs to get into a tub like setting, so maybe a walk in shower instead of a tub in the ADA rooms might actually be beneficial and maybe even encourage people with a physical disability to stay there more

These were exactly our thoughts too! We have a son who is a wheelchair user and there is no way he could use that shower/bath set up 🤦🏼‍♀️ Also a higher (or adjustable) bed with room under for a mobile hoist would have been more practical 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wonder who’s advising Disney on their disabled facilities??

And the seat not placed where the shower head will not reach (and can’t be moved. Either seat or shower head) . Had a bathroom like that at Animal Kingdom Lodge, just renovated, in ‘21. Told them the water just ran out of the shower all over the bathroom floor. Was told yes they know tile was mislaid. My suggestion always is hire someone who is disabled to design your ADA rooms. Normies don’t have a clue.

Our favorite resort/ rooms are at Coronado Springs in Gran Destino Tower. Everything we need and want is all right there, don't even have to leave resort. Its so beautiful and peaceful!

Fort Wilderness is the only place we have stayed inside Disney, our go to resort, get to sleep in your own space (camper). Plus stayed in the cabins twice. And a few times outside of Disney.

I have stayed at many resorts, and dollar for dollar location counts as does food options. I do like room service at night as I am not running around the parks like I’m 30 anymore. So location and food being prioritized nothing beats sawn/dolphin combo. And even if you are going to not go in the parks nothing beats the options here.

Grand Floridian is a great resort hotel if you can manage your time better. The monorail is free. So, you missed the opportunity for early and late park access including lightning lanes for resort guests. Lastly, all those shops at the resorts are run by Disney. It’s a tourist trap. You’re paying a premium for everything. This includes Disney Springs. You can buy most clothes online or at Walmart or Target for half the cost.

Hi Kyle, ok, I gave you 50s & rain yesterday being cold - 70s, NO 😂 beautiful room - I've booked this type of room (not ADA) for fall next year & they said it would be a park view 😃 Subconsciously I appear to be staying at the Kyle Pallo top 5 resort picks 😂 So far Grand Destino room is tops. I didn't care for my Poly room, Port Orleans Riverside was nice and Caribbean Beach needs refurb.

As a kid I stayed at the Polynesian and it was my favorite but then I stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Riviera and it’s my favorite resort. I also like the Bayou rooms at Port Orleans Riverside.

My favorite place I've stay was at Yacht Club water view room. We were on the 2nd floor in a corner room. It was fantastic because we had the stairs right next to the room due to being at the end of the hallway so we could exit to the garden and docks quickly. And being just a few minutes walk to 2 parks was huge.

I’m not disabled but my first thought about the bathroom was the bathtub looks difficult to get in and out of and a walk in shower would have been much better for someone who is. Nice to see though for anyone with disabilities.

TFS - I love the GF only stayed there once in 2019 and was in the first part you went behind fountain first floor - loved the rooms a very special holiday. Hoping to go back there but not our home resort so a little difficult to book as so popular. (I was a little surprised to see a bath (albeit low level) and not walk in shower mind in the bathroom)

I’ve stayed at Floridian 2 times under dvc and really wasn’t that great our one room was $900 a night and all we had was raised ceiling and laundry facilities with lots of black mold. Definitely better rooms on Disney property

We have our own fifthwheel RV. We're staying at Ft Wilderness 11/26 -12/3. It cost us less than $1000 for 7 nights with 5 people. Hoop de do on 11/27. We also decorate our site for Christmas.
