Stayed first weekend of Feb, in newly renovated room, no issues, love the location on the strip. I'm spoiled in my old age and particular, I was good.

We loved staying at The Flamingo. For the price, you can’t beat the location and it’s a lot more updated than the other budget hotels on the strip. It’s very family friendly, they have a nice pool setup, and the restaurants are good. The rooms aren’t the best you can get but they are great for the price. We stayed in a basic double queen and it was dated but it was clean and bright.

It’s so interesting how much of a hotel you cannot see from the street. I have never walked deep in there. I didn’t realize they had so many options for spa, workout, restaurants, food hall etc. I have zipped in to the habitat to say hi to the flamingos. There is a nice little area to get married in the habitat area also, if I remember correctly. You stay in Vegas a lot Jay. You have never had the room safety check? I usually stay at Bally’s (Horseshoe) because the rooms are so big, but they do safety checks every other day, at random times! So annoying. I totally understand why they do them now since Mandolay Bay, but my problem with it is they won’t come back if you can’t let them in when they knock. I was in the shower once and didn’t even hear the knock until they were banging on the door with the back of their flashlight. Scared the heck out of me! I wrapped a towel and they said I had to let them in. They travel in pairs (at least at Horseshoe they do) and one was a woman security, the man stood in the doorway but did not enter. It’s scary when they don’t even warn you at check-in that it will happen at random days and times. The woman walked all the way across the room and pulled back the curtains to make sure the sliding door to the little balcony was not tampered with or open. They have bolts on them but they only open about 2 inches if you want fresh air. I am thin but I certainly can’t squeeze through 2 inches. I had opened it the 2 inches it could go, as it was a beautiful Spring day! She slammed it shut and said “don’t open it again” and walked out with her partner. Woah, ok! No problem. I felt like I was 15 and my parents just caught me doing something bad lol. People should know that security checks can and do happen.

I totally understand like you said with the Mandalay Bay tragedy but some security guards need to learn a little politeness i agree. Thats rude what they said to you. When they came in i noticed there were 6 of them when i looked out the hallway. My bro was asleep and i told the guy he can come in but be quiet lol he was nice about it haha

Great video Jay. My wife and I are coming to Las Vegas from Canada at the end of January and we are booked in at the Flamingo. We already have our tickets to see a show at the sphere which looks like it’s within walking distance of the hotel. First trip to Vegas for us, hopefully not the last. We’re only there for 5 days so with such a tight timeline, it’s tough to prioritize everything you want to see and do. Keep up the great work and the great videos. Take care.

Nice review and video. I also live in Brooklyn and I can tell you that Peter Luger stakes are delicious and reasonably priced. A useful fact, Peter Luger stake house was first opened in 1887, four years after the Brooklyn Bridge was completed.

We are coming next month for the sphere experience, and I’m hoping to get a room with a view of the sphere like that. Bummer about that bathroom though. Hopefully they renovate some of the rooms, as it is one of the oldest hotels on the strip. I also like its proximity to the Linq promenade, so you have easy access to the restaurants there.

Hi Jay, if you liked "Capo" , you should try " Casa di Amore" , a very old and excellent Italian restaurant and they send a van to pick you up and drop you off from your hotel ( at least it was like that prior to Covid",

@@jordancleal6380 cannot beat the location. The hotel is OK. Check in was rough, long line, only one person at the desk. Other than that, had a good time at the pool, rooms were clean, was a good time.

Check-in at the Flamingo is the worst. They have the self check kiosks, but they cannot scan Illinois IDs, so you're stuck trying to flag down a person. Usually there are only 2 or 3 people working at the desk. So frustrating.

The best about the Flamingo: It's the literally the center point of the Stripe and best connected Hotel in all Las Vegas. The Hotel might not be that great, but as an affordable base to go everywhere in Vegas it is hard to beat.

The Flamingo was the very first hotel I ever stayed at in Vegas back in Sept of 2002. Will always hold a place in my heart as my first temporary home decades before moving here. But those security checks would drive me nuts! That is not cool.

Safety is paramount. But, letting strangers into your room with flashlights?..........That is unacceptable, also a violation of your 4th amendment rights. Demand a full refund. Your contract with the front desk can't void your 4th amendment rights.

We stayed at the Flamingo during the peak of covid and they didn't mess with me. I never wore a mask, not once. The bartender and I were making fun of masking and social distancing people. She was rad. I got wasted and hung out with the birds and koi for HOURS while my husband slept. I got too many free drinks to count and never once gambled cause I've never gambled once in my life. The server bringing me drinks told me to pretend I'm gambling and I'll get free drinks so I did. Like dozens of drinks. 😂😂 Asside from getting drunk, the Flamingo is the oldest hotel on the strip and it's still got its all old world charm, messed up hallways. I love it. Shower sucked but they always do to me, don't care. I love the Flamingo.

My wife and I stayed there in 2023 I think it is the worst place to stay, was there 4 days no room service the whole time and checking in was very difficult no help from anyone. I would not recommend it to anyone I would give it minus 4 stars
