Duyung would be my favourite street/area. Have stayed at Asoka there. Duyung Homestay is in a fantastic location for that budget for sure.

It really is a great little spot! I might need to check out Asoka.

Stayed there a few years ago. Damp in the room I was in. Pool far too small and no garden to relax in. Budget yes, but there are better options in Sanur in my opinion. The big bonus is the location though. And thank goodness for Warung Kecil. What a wonderful little restaurant.

What are your top picks for this price range?

I agree, great value. Great location. As long as it is clean and quiet I love places like this. They are often quite quirky and different to accomodation you would find in Australia which is what appeals to me.

We stayed at Duyung Homestay in September. We upgraded to a studio room (more room, couch, table/chairs, larger fridge, cooking facilities). We agree with Vicky, Warung Kecil have very delicious breakfasts. We had the pleasure in meeting you for a coffee and chat.

I did mention a few of the things you told me during that catch up. Thanks for the heads up on Duyung Homestay! A really good location and I think excellent for the price.

Yes thats a great find at "food central" as I call it now,already booked for next year and the larger rooms are down the end of the walkway,they are double fronted which certainly gives a lot more space and the sofa bonus.....keep up your great vids.Many thanks.

Good info on the bigger rooms. It's a top little spot.

I agree Adam, the Duyung location is a definite plus.

Yeah it's the main draw of this place in my view. Just so central.

I actually really like and have stayed at the nearby Asoka. The only trouble is that unless you book way in advance, it's almost impossible to get a room...
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
Good tip. I'll have to check it out!

@SanurDiaries If you email Asoka via their website, you'll get a better price. The rooms are spotlessly clean, also the pool. Very nice staff.

ha! I don't think Warung Kecil is ever going to become too busy. Have you tried Warung Kecil Infinity on the bypass. Much bigger location.

Nice find. Haven't stayed there but been past it a few times. The bubbling in the paint, for me, usually indicates rising damp. Do you smell any mould in your room? Great location, although over what I would normally spend but good price for sure.
@SanurDiaries21 сағат бұрын
Nah it didn’t have a smell to it. As I said, it’s a clean room aside from the rising damp.

Can you checkout the easy way to get to the beach Warungs from Watujimbar please.
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
Unless you can cut through one of the beachfront hotels, Jalan Pantai Karang is the quickest way to the beach. The problem is that there aren't too many warungs down there. If you're lucky you will see a cremation in the car park which is a unique cultural event... I think the best option is to walk up to the icon mall and cut through there to the beach walk where the warungs start at that end of town. Otherwise, there are plenty of warungs along the main road away from the beach.

Thank you for the information did I miss the price of the room ? How much for a bigger room ?
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
Yeah, it’s at 12:13 in the video. I paid Rp387.000, but prices are seasonal. You can check out the booking.com link to the hotel in the description to check current prices and for that larger room.

Hey Adam thanks again for the info, left field question....Probs one for Susan however have you much experience as to where to find the best massage places in Sanur we are staying at Sagara Villas do you recommend anything near by? Thanks Carol
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
We aren’t massage experts unfortunately, but Susan does like the Nest down at the beach. She reckons it’s one of the most spa-like massages she’s had in Sanur. There are others that are cheaper such as Peni Weni.
@steveth10003 сағат бұрын
My wife is also named Susan, and we will take her advice on Peni Weni as it's opposite the Kamboja Homestay. We will be in there every day in our week there.

Great for the budget minded. Not for me though, I could see some issues, but its priced accordingly and great location.

We are very grateful you let us know about another homestay that we ended up booking for $40 room only per night. We will organise breakfast directly with them as we didn't get that option online. It's great to have different price points in accommodations shown.
@noelgokel514Күн бұрын
Hi Adam, i noticed the price you quoted more than doubles over xmas/new year. That was checking through online booking sites. Do you think you would you still get your quoted price if booking in person at the hotel during that time?
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
No, I think it would already be booked out because it's the busiest time of year. I would probably check further back from the beach and maybe up your budget a little bit for Christmas...
@steveth10003 сағат бұрын
We booked our accommodations 7 months out, now with only 2 months to go our accommodation for our dates has gone up a lot.
@1dancier2 күн бұрын
Haven't been to Bali for awhile so don't know the prices. Looked on Google maps and rooms were $40 AUD plus. I might stay a few days and move on with my bicycle, but its good have comfy spots to revisit when in the area again.
@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
Yeah that's about right. Cheap accommodation in Sanur is in the $30-$45 range. Outside of Sanur you can still get it slightly cheaper, but you start to get into places without pools etc. The extremely cheap sub-$10 stuff is not really available anymore.

@SanurDiariesКүн бұрын
Ah right. It's a bit of a problem that many of the hotels close to the beach are old and in need of renovation. I'm not sure why they don't put a bit of money into them to bring them into the 2020s.
