I was crying at the end of the episode , I love hearing to your podcast , my favorite one liner in this ep was - “Even a drunk Uriah had more integrity than a sober David". May God bless everyone watching this and God bless you !!

My greatest takeaway was "don't follow your heart follow the One who created it". God has been ministering Jeremiah 17:9 to me and this is confirmation. Also, "you sleep better with the lights on! I will STAY OFF THE ROOF!!!! Great episode Preston! God bless you!!

“Even a drunk Uriah had more integrity than a sober David” 🔥 I’ve been listening and watching The Leaders cut for a while, and Tim Ross, and the B-side and Preston and Jackie Perry. I learned so much because of your guys bold relationship with God. Thank you all for being so bold and only caring about what people think. I literally don’t have enough words. I’m grateful to God for all of you. Thank you Preston.

Preston, your podcasts have been so great for not just my faith, but also my gym goals. It’s my favorite podcast to listen to while working out. It’s calm and God focused. It has challenged the way I view things and has been an encouragement. Please don’t stop releasing podcasts. I also would like to point out that in no place in the Bible does it state that Bathsheba agreed to sleep with David. It may not have been consensual. Also, even if it was, who could say no to the king without concern for their life and the lives of their family?
@prestonmorrison40946 ай бұрын
Love it! Completely hear your perspective on Bathsheba. I’ve heard others bring that up. Certainly a possibility.

Who knows the culture laws…..and fear…..or she had a secret crush and was lonely…..but she def didn’t get raped. And ended up being king Solomon’s mother. David was a horny man. I’m sure she was a pretty fair lady.

When I was young, I felt bad that Uriah was killed for doing right. For a long time that made me feel like it was injustice cos David and Bathsheba did wrong but they got away with it. The child dies but it wasn't the child who did wrong. God's ways are higher than our ways. We yield to his sovereignty.

wow…temptation comes when we’re looking where we shouldn’t. my temptation has been to avoid God’s calling on my life-to avoid using the gifts He’s given me (kindness, sweetness, confidence, empathy, intuition, etc) for the benefit of others. when i’m looking where i shouldn’t(such as into my own imagination, where fear and anxiety point me to all the rejection i could be facing) i fall into the temptation to play ignorant. to pretend i have no special ability to help. even to get caught up in anxiety to the point that i feel paralyzed and quite certain there’s nothing i can do to help anyone!! when God has already shown me countless times with numerous people in random store aisles, at streetlights, at jobs i’ve had-i have a gift. one He’s planted in me for His glory. and that by definition means i do NOT need to be afraid.

My honest question is... Is it a sin to not read the Word knowing that I should? I feel like when I read the Word in an app, I'm just skimming... more or less... but to actually pull out my Bible, get my highlighter, get my pen, and my notebook, feels too inconvenient nowadays. I wonder if I'll ever have the discipline and hunger to study God's Word again like I used to. 😕 I'm just making an honest statement.
@juansan63304 ай бұрын
I would suggest getting an ESV One Year Bible. Either one that includes the whole Bible or one that includes the NT, Psalms, and Proverbs. Amazon sells both. I think that highlighters are overrated. Set a time to read when you are not rushed. Practice the gift of prayer with thankfulness in your heart. God, through his word and the indwelling of his Holy Spirit continues to mold you into the likeness of his Son Jesus Christ.

Why do some Christian leaders often appeal to emotion? During the prayer time, “I can hear people crying”. When you do this you display not so much a reflection of tenderness but instability. But I guess it’s learned behavior. But I agree that we should not choose to live on the edge. Even worse, to try to straddle two worlds. I encourage you all to draw close to God by prayerfully reading the Bible with thankfulness in your heart. Worship God with other Christians.

Need help understanding the news this week. With how many times RM talked about how he fell early in his marriage; as a logical adult I always thought affair with two consulting adults. Not criminal. How was he not prosecuted and a registered offender. Did the church staff know the details and still consider him a mentor? Are the elders accomplices. Have I been following/believing incorrect teaching through Gateway & Pillar Church. TE and RM this week. What is happening How could I have been this fooled.
