That is SO awesome. As a lifelong Texan I really appreciate any visitors to our state exploring the history especially something like this that is Off the beaten trail. I've only been there once myself...

The labia was actually just rubble when they found it in the 20’s or 30’s they rebuilt it to what it looked like base off of the layout of it. But still it pretty old from being built in that time. They built everything by hand no machine which They also did to the mission that converted Indians to Christian’s.

My mother and I visited that site September of 1992. It was fascinating. We were there when they were holding a Texas cattlemen barbecue in the huge square, so smelled that barbecue smell as we toured it. Thank you so much for the memories.

Thank you. I have visited the Alamo, but I had never heard of Goliad. Thank you. As a professor, your dad is very humble.

Fantastic job explaining the entire site with respect. We used to live in the area and visited many times. The updates are super to preserve history. Our friend was the curator there years ago. On a special occasion called “ Spanish Nightwatch” I had the privilege of lighting fireworks from the barracks roof. A night our children still remember as adults. Thanks for bringing this to us.

Thanks for your posts They have inspired so many of our trips to America from Australia. I especially love watching you and your dad’s travels. I wish you’d do the Camino de Santiago in Spain one day! I think you’d show the effort and camaraderie whilst explaining the history of the place as well! Also I think you’d go the whole way instead of coping out at 200 km like so many you tubers.

You like to hike you should check out Watkins Glen and a gorgeous falls in Elmira. Pops is right too about PA, especially Lancaster it's beautiful there, a fall trip is the best. Keep making those fabulous videos and all the best to you and your family.

I’m going to sign up next week when I get paid. I’ve been following you since you started Brent and and can tell you as a runner you will probably have to put a limit on the amount of runners you allow or have staggered races by age group. This will be very popular for sure and will blow your mind by the response you will get

i love seeing videos talking about my town! if there was any place i would recommend in texas, it would be goliad. not only are the people there great, the prices arent too shabby! and we have tons of cats so if you're a cat lover like me, come around! we have tons of historical events too and sites that you can check out! the hanging tree, reenactment, courthouse and my favorite, the state park. the hike and bike trail is amazing too! it is about 10 miles to get to the end and back, but along the way there is plenty of facts!

Very Few people know about another battle/siege just 25 miles south of Goliad - at Refugio, TX. A Mexican General Urrea attacked the small garrison. He camped under a large Oak Motte just across the Mission River from the town of Refugio which is still there and has a TEXAS Historical Marker, designating them the Urrea Oaks. The siege went on for days causing much stress to locals, so many of them left Refugio and traveled to Goliad where most were killed . Remember Refugio was also a Battle cry at later battles.
