It was very heart warming that you sold the car back to the original owner for cost. I am sure he was really frustrated that the car was not running right and for whatever reason could not figure it out and put it and put it up for sale as a last resort. Not only did you figure out his engine problem by fixing a ground issue. You got the fans running, fixed a trans fluid leak, fixed low oil pressure, adjusted the floor shifter, added the air cleaner, included parts and tools to the deal. You had fun running the car down the strip. Well done Stay Tuned!

Absolutely love that you sold it back to him. Much respect. I learned how to drive in a '75 Nova, and learned to drift it in the snow when I was 12. They're awesome cars. Mom got hers because my grandparents bought for my aunt as a graduation present, from the original owner, also grandparents, and my aunt was less than impressed. Her exact words were "A Nova?! I don't want a God damn Nova." I was standing there, wondering wtf was wrong with her. Grandma was fairly insulted and handed the keys to my mom, who also needed a good car at the time. My aunt went and leased a new Escort GT. Some people. Anyway, that Nova went through hell in our time with it. It mowed down mailboxes, got crashed into, and had several paint color changes over the years. When it was time to let it go, dad parked it at Safeway, and before he got home he had a message on the machine. He sold it for $5k in less than 20 minutes on the market. It was a hatchback, with a full custom velour interior in black and silver, with a metallic black paint job that was flawless. I'd buy one myself if I could find a solid hatch for decent money. They're just too hard to find in good shape, and when they are, they're expensive.

Ya did it again, Anthony!!! This absolute GEM of an episode took me straight back to when I was 18. My buddy Paul had been given his Mother's bought-new 1978 Olds Omega as a graduation present. On the surface, it was no great shakes - a Buick-sourced 3.8 litre V6 coupled to a highway-geared TH350. All black {including the Landau vinyl half-top} with a red velour interior, rolling on Chevy-sourced Rallye wheels. The only thing that stood out immediately was the complete lack of exterior trim and chrome accents. A closer look revealed several neat features - high-back bucket seats identical to the ones found in contemporary Z/28's and Trans Ams; a floor shifter and full console; a complete analog gauge package instead of a tach and idiot lights; and the rarest of rarities, in the form of a dealer-installed true dual exhaust - with a nifty dual inlet / dual outlet catalytic converter serving as the H-pipe!!l Paul lost no time in making with the upgrades, whilst also roping me in as the gasoline-soaked Igor to his gearhead Dr. Frankenstein for good measure. Paul started with a very thorough dingleball hone that was essentially a .15 overbore. After that, things quickly went hot and heavy, thanks to a whole host of parts salvaged from several junkyards, sprinkled with a few new goodies from Western Auto. Things like the supercharger and complete fuel-injection system from a prematurely expired Pontiac Bonneville SSei {for which Paul fabricated an insanely trick intake adapter to mate the donated organs to the existing long block}, complemented by a pair of custom-made stainless-steel headers, AND two red Thrush glass packs, courtesy of our local muffler shop. We converted the car to a 4-link and coil springs fore and aft, installed a front sway bar to bolster the OEM rear one, and added disc brakes in back. We finished it all up with a complete window tinting, and the installation of a KILLER decklid spoiler that Paul once again fabricated himself, using a trashed 1978 Plymouth Volare Roadrunner's comely ducktail rearend as the basic donor material. The end result was a 300-horse tarmac terror that looked outrageously cool as it gleefully chewed up and spit out any and all comers. In a fitting postscript, Paul's hot Omega lives on to this day - he gifted it to his youngest son upon high screwel graduation four years ago. Neat, eh? Finally, you've maintained your "Stoutest of the Stout" status with both the "regifting" of the car, as well as the plug for hurricane relief. I'll be quite happy to contribute here, once I'm done bloviating.............😝 KUTGW!!!😎
