I live in the Asheville NC area and was affected by the hurricane. We just want to thank everyone for their support and prayers as we dig out from under the mud and devastation Helene caused. Many of us don’t even have water, much less power or communications. That includes cell service. Over 1000 are still missing or unaccounted for where I live, which is right on the French Broad river. The support we’re seeing now is amazing, but what we really need is that long term support after the hype is over. Please check out the many different ways to donate or serve, including the Barnes 4wd effort. Thanks and ❤to you all.

Thank you Matt and Colt for stepping in with Barnes to help get some relief to the NC people. When I used to drag race my turbo Corvair, I would drive thru the water box, but only to get the tires wet. That way, when you dump the clutch, the tires will spin easier, reducing bogging, and easing the load on the U-joints and spider gears. My buddy had a turbo Corvair that ran in the high 13's, so, 15s should be no problem with a few tweaks.

Back in the day I helped a friend run a new 1962 Monza Spider. I said back in the day! More traction than HP is a Corvair problem that causes the bog after clutch release. Standard tire was 6.50/13. We went to 6.00/13 on the rear that had been further narrowed by grinding the shoulder to narrow the surface patch and running about 40 psi. This helper the bog significantly by letting that fire breathing 6 pot keep the revs up so the turbo would work a bit better. Same class as the 260 Falcon Sprint and it depended on the launch as to who win. Good times.
