STB Emulator on Firestick setup color buttons / Favorite / Search

How to setup the STB Emulator Color Buttons on your Fire Stick TV or Android box.
So you can add to favorite do a search, which is great.
*****To remove a button*****
- Hold the OK button and press down arrow to go to the key you want to delete.
- Release the center button and press it again.
- Now go to delete button and press and confirm.
- Repeat the same steps for any other buttons.

No you can't, it's one or the other. But if you have the latest version of the StbEmu. It has the color buttons now. I will be posting a video on this soon.

Not with the fire stick remote. You will need a different remote. (Any Bluetooth remote)

Hi Jason. Awesome video. I saved the rewind key for green and the fast forward key for yellow. Then I use the rewind key (Long) for paging down, and the fast forward key (Long) for paging up. I soon realized that it would be better to do green and yellow as LONG and the paging as a regular press. How do I fix this. Is it possible to switch them.

There is a way where I was able to make it work PARTIALLY. First, you'll have to manually map the fwd and rewind buttons to the fwd and rewind activities. Then, you set up TWO OF YOUR PREFERRED COLORS to be "long presses". In my case, I selected fwd lp and rewind lp to be Yellow and Blue. You can potentially try the same with any remaining buttons (playpause or vol+ or vol- or mute) and long press them to be the other two colors. However, I did not do this step as I didn't have the need. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not bad

Your video is designed for an AMAZON Firestick and not for a Nvidia shield android device, none the less I followed your steps and it screwed up the back button on my Nvidia Shield remote control so when I now watch a movie on VOD I cannot navigate out of it without completely exiting the STB Emulator pro app. Do you have an instructional video on how to configure the color buttons on a Nvidia Shield Android device/ remote control which is different from an Amazon firestick.

Hi Adam. Follow the same steps, the only thing you can do different is pick the button you want to make into a color button. Try to pick a button that you really don’t use. Keep in mind you don’t have to do all the color buttons. Just pick the one that you mostly use.

@@JasonTech after using IPTV for 38 months I finally figured out how to configure the color buttons. I was trying to configure and use my Nvidia shield remote which has no color buttons, so instead I used the remote that comes with my Samsung tv and that remote does have colored buttons and now I am able to conduct a search for a specific title movie or tv show in vod and also configure my favorites using the yellow button. This makes watching IPTV all that much better!

I used an OTG type A cable to connect a small USB media keyboard, which I then used the process in this vid to assign the colours to F1 F2 F3 and F4. As a bonus, the keyboard also has page up and down buttons, which makes it much quicker to browse the channel listings.

I was able to program it on my friends remote, but when watching movies on IPTV, rewind or fast forward no longer works. On my remote, while using IPTV, I press the OK button for 2 seconds and a pop up shows up in the middle of the screen. That is much easier

@@JasonTech I've found the fix for it and figured out how to delete it. It's not via what u said in your video and holding onto new key and scrolling down. You have to hold onto where it says fire stuck then scroll down to what u want to delete and let go. Then the menu appears where u can delete on the right hand side. In your vid it says hold the OK button on the 'new key' bit that's incorrect. It might be correct for certain versions but on mine u have to hold the OK button on the firestick button then scroll down and let go then delete. Cheers for your help much appreciated.

Thanks so much for this. Very helpful. Can you comment on how to delete the keys if added by mistake or if they don’t work as preferred. Also, how about adding similar shortcuts for page up / page down options to be able to scroll pages faster? Which keys can be used if we are using rewind and forward for the four colored button keys? Lastly, similar question for parental lock / locking channel etc? Which keys do you recommend if we are using rewind and forward keys as colored keys? Thanks again.

Hi. The only problem is, there isn't much buttons to choose from. Try this kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYaqamWLjraIaJo To remove the keys. - go to the key you want to delete. - Press and hold the center OK button. - Now go to delete button and press and confirm. - Repeat the same steps for any other buttons. Thanks so much for your guidance. Unfortunately I still can’t figure out how to delete the keys. I tried to highlight and press the center OK button but nothing happens. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks again. Much appreciated

HI, i bought the logitech harmony remote because it has the colours but these steps dont work for the logitech remote? Do you know how I can set up the colors on the harmony remote? This has been driving me crazy! Thanks

Hi Marco, Question are you using the fire stick? If so, you 1st have to add the color buttons option to the harmony remote through MyHarmony software. Then you can follow the steps in the video. Let me know if you want me to make a video on it.

Just so you know there is no more Harmony. So there is no more harmony remotes.
