That's why I have an Nvidia Shield Pro with a 3rd party launcher. I get zero ads, and my home screen is a neat 21 icon area, and I can set my own background. You can have more icons without scrolling by making them smaller. FireTV is also very laggy. Shield is still the best streaming box and the oldest Android device that still gets updates.

I have NOT seen this "update" ON my Fire Cube 3rd gen in the USA and am also NOT signed in to "beta" features. I know they made MAJOR updates to the "live" TV tab which IMO is a plus, making it easier to load content directly.

Had it a while now on 4k stick and the lite it a bit better.but sometimes the apps disappear and you have the move the highlighting square over to the setting then back to home to get them back or say open my appsand that gets rid of all sponsors adds

Like you said all streaming devices do this that seem to push advertising of apps and shows and move things around because of it. I don't see the point in saying you got rid of a certain one if they all do it in a certain way. As long as I can get to the apps I want I am not too bothered. Although I do prefer the Roku devices because they have a much cleaner and less cluttered interface and for the most part these days I am not as interested in side loading apps and just using what is available since there is far more choice than several years ago in the UK.
