The scene of a boy coming out to his father as gay is one of the most powerful, emotionable, and the very beautiful thing in the world, makes me wanna cry for Lucas cause I'm so proud of him for having the courage to say "I'm gay". Ste you've became a hero for saving your son's life and now he can be just like his dad..... Out & Proud!!!!

As soon as Lucas started to say "I'm gay", the tears burst out of my eyes like a couple of gueysers. It feels like yesterday that Ste had a similar scene as a young man and Lucas was a wee lad. Say what you will about soaps but they always break ground and the particular subject of a parent who was gay and their biological child they raised also ended up being gay is actually a pretty touchy subject and actually far more common than you'd think. Most of the time it's a situation of mutual coming out, but just once in a while it will happen similar to this. Straight children of gay people is far more common so I think the whole nurture thing goes out the window and establishes an even more solid case for some type of genetic component. Turns out that the background gay percentage rate for children with parents of any orientation tends to be about the same. Again, say what you will about soaps, but they do always seem to break ground albiet often over- or under-played and certainly this storyline has contained a few touchy subjects of which so far they have aggressively portrayed in what I would say is a fairly realistic time frame and tone. Bravo to Hollyoaks, Oscar Curtis, and Kieron Richardson for the performance of the storyline and also for them doing it while maintaining character integrity and continuity. It's going to be a long weekend waiting to see where this goes and how it plays out.

It was surprisingly easy for Ste to convince Lucas. I wonder if Lucas will have some fall backs, because it is very hard to get out of internalized thought patterns. Although I wouldn't wish it upon Lucas, it seems unrealistic to me that one conversation with his dad would solve his internal struggle. And that is without the guilt Lucas will be feeling about the hurt he has caused.

its gonna be such a rocky road now thought and you know that Lucas is gonna be drowning in guilt bcs of what he did to Dillon. honestly thought so glad Ste got through and so glad Lucas could finally admit who he really is and hopefully Lucas and Dillon can be together but like I said its definitely gonna be a rocky road for a bit until everything clears up.

But on warrens side ste killed his little girl and now its happening to lucas which warren probably thought well if i cant have my little girl why should he have his kid but at the end of the day i think that warren needs a healing period away from hollyoaks and away from ste #loveste #lovelucas #dillonandlucas

In a previous episode Dillon stopped Lucas from running away with Carter, telling Lucas that he loves him. Lucas, struggling and confused, lashed out and pummeled Dillon in a rage. After Lucas realized what he had done he self-harmed and passed out from blood loss next to an unconscious Dillon. Dillon woke up shortly after and got help and ultimately they both ended up in the hospital.
