@@Xzamilloh Sadly I have just arrived at that feeling as well. Getting violent against Jet really crossed the line. And he laughs and jokes about it and does not feel the slightest bit guilty about it. That is evil and hints at a serious mental problem. Ste looks good but his behavior is too ugly at the moment to even think about forgiving him. And now they have two videos of him doing harm ... What a moron he can be ...

Hollyoaks is keeping it more realistic for a change. Can`t help thinking, though, this would have been even more suspenseful and engaging if Sinead and Yasmine had been disguised in overalls, gloves and masks - making it difficult to assess both age, gender and ethnicity, as well as reducing the chances of leaving behind DNA or fingerprints. Making Stuart seriously worried and paranoid about who had been there - and how long they had been sniffing around for prior to the break in/secret search. Since the professionalism of such a break in would more suggest pros, than the amateurs next door. Would have been nice to see Stuart sweat and look anxiously over his shoulder for a change.

@@ann-christinenilsson4046 Disagree. SInead is very clever (sometimes). Don`t you remember when she, Laurie, Sienna and Brody was out for dinner and Laurie made some reference to literature Sinead both knew, and knew what he meant by it - but found it too boring to care about? She told Brody, but didn`t let on to Laurie or Sienna. Not sure if her very frank evaluation of a classic English novel. during the short time she was part of the book club, could be claimed to be smart from a literary point of view, but she at least got her message out in a very effective way. She didn`t have to attend another book club meeting after that.LOL So I think I would describe her as kind of clever. But now that I got you here, what was your opinion on the exit of Harry and conclusion, so far at least, to the hit and run storyline?
@ann-christinenilsson4046

@@Tvjunkieful12 I think Sinead is more stupid than clever most of the time. Honestly, I don´t care about the character of Harry. The hit and run story? Well, I guess neither Mercedes nor Liam will be punished for the hit and run and the show will go on as usual. The character that I think I will follow is Ste now and the fact that he hit this guy called Jed seems not realistic enough on how they played out the scene. It would have been more interesting though to see Ste´s reaction if Jed actually had shown Ste what was on the flash drive/memory stick but I guess Ste will find out more things later on when he really is in the gutter. What would have happened if Ste refused to hit Jed? To say no to violence towards a human being? He damaged someone´s motorcycle but that was a thing. The fact that Stuart and Jonny always talk to him in a more or less aggressive/threatening way would make him really doubt and run away but I guess it´s difficult for Ste to recognize that they want to hurt him and feel like a loser once again. Some kind of denial is going on here as the truth is too hurtful to admit. It´s easier just to play/go along. But I think the scene with Ste on the way to hit Jed was really bad and didn´t make sense. Ste should have shown more doubt and fear before he did it. That would have felt more realistic. Humans are not like robots. Both Tony, Harry, Leila and Sinead that cared for him in the past are disappointed at him living with racists and if it was realistic, I think he would doubt all the time what to do. You would be able to see the doubt and fear in his face constantly. How can you hit someone with your fist and be so calm about it like it never happened?? That is NOT REALISTIC. Ste is an idiot most of the time but he is also sensitive so things don´t make sense. Harry that he loved told him about them being racists and why doesn´t some common sense kick in.

@@ann-christinenilsson4046 I don`t know if you have read my take on the Jed confiding in Ste development. In case you haven`t, let me just quickly explain I found it unlikely he would have done so, since he would have known from personal experience how financially and emotionally dependent Ste had become of Stuart and Johnny, and therefore wouldn`t have chanced such a risky move as to confide in Ste. Instead I think a both more likely and clever way of handling it, would have been for Jed to get his police contact to get a colleague of his to approach Ste, if Jed wanted to save Ste from being taken with the rest of the gang. That way Jed`s name and the fact he had obtained evidence against Stuart and the gang would not have been relieved, and it wouldn`t have mattered if Ste blabbed, since all he could tell was that he had been approached by the police and offered immunity if he informed on the gang`s activity. At tje same time, if Ste informed on the gang, the case against Stuart and the gang would have been strengthened, and Ste would receive full immunity. Not to mention that with the evidence Jed already had obtained, plus what had emerged through the media about the gang after the violent protests, concerns could be raised so much they, together with Jed`s evidence and claims, would qualify as reasonable grounds for suspicion Giving the police the chance to obtain permissions to bug phones, as well as keep under surveillance key suspects and locations. Not unlikely strong enough suspicion and evidence to merit suspicion of terrorist activity, which would open up for advanced surveillance like room surveillance, or even secret arrests and for a limited amount of time incarcerations without anyone being notified. So even if Ste didn`t turn on the gang directly, because of the more invasive investigative metodes and surveillance Jed`s evidence would have made the court make available for the police, Ste would have helped the case for the police indirectly, since he by informing members of the gang, that information likely would have been spread internally within the gang - not unlikely even to new suspects the investigation and Jed had not discovered before. So even if Ste didn`t actively and knowingly helped the investigation, the police - if Jed asked them - could claim Ste had acted on their orders and their behalf when he informed the gang about having been attempted recruited by the police, because they had the group under full surveillance and wanted to form themselves a fuller picture of who was in charge, and if there were members or backers they had not manage to identify before. That way Ste and Jed could have gotten off scott free, while Stuart, Johnny and the rest ended up behind bars. I fully agree with you the way this was painted out didn`t make sense at all. Which is why I am slightly suspicious we may not have gotten the whole story yet. And hear me out, cause this is where it gets complicated. We know Stuart is very careful to make sure he and Johnny are alibied every time some form of violent agenda is penciled in on the calendar, therefore those two likely would not have been present when Ste beat up Jed. It also would have been too risky to either beat up or kill a police informant in the house Stuart himself owned, because of forensic evidence like blood and more. Therefore it is likely Jed would have been taken from the house to some location which could not be tied directly to Stuart, and the incident committed at a time he and Johnny had a solid alibi for. Meaning the people accompanying Ste to make sure he did as Stuart had told him, would be foot-soldiers - not ranked members like Stuart and Johnny. All of this would be possible to predict, simply because of what we know of Stuart`s MO (making sure he and his wing-man, Johnny, are alibied for any criminal activity), and because professional criminals are not stupid enough to shit in their own house when violence have to be used - they make sure it is being done somewhere else. Even the part about Ste being the one asked to do the beating is more than predictable, (I assume you were not surprised about it either), and therefore Jed, Ste and the police could have planned all of this in advance, and instead of Ste beating up Jed, the police arrested the foot-soldiers for hostage taking and attempted physical assault (possibly even murder?), and while using the camera of one of them to film the fake beating up of Jed by Ste, the foot-soldiers were presented with the choice of being charged and jailed for all that was known about their criminal activity, or do as they were told. Leading to them returning to Stuart and Johnny with the video of Jed`s "beating;" and the story that everything went according to plan - Ste had loyally done what he had been told. So I would still, because we didn`t see Jed after the alleged beating, but apparently Johnny has a recording of that beating/"beating," think there is a chance that beating never actually happened, but could be a ploy to get the upper hand over Stuart and Johnny. That is how it would have been if I had written it, anyway - a surprise twist, which only made sense after it was explained in detail. Other than that I found myself nodding to most of what you were saying about the Ste developments of late. So now I really hope I am right in my possible scenario: Ste hasn`t been beating up Jed at all, it was just made to look that way to fool Stuart and Johnny into a false sense of security. The only pain inflicted was Ste bruising his knuckles carefully hitting them in a sideways movement against a hard and rough surface. In regard to the characters I find most of them behaving like idiots most of the time, to be honest. Even the supposedly genius Alfie Nightingale I found most unconvincing as such. Not to mention what an idiot I find James! He is so stupid most of the time he is supposed to be acting like a lawyer, it annoys me. Don`t get me wrong! Gregory Finnegan is excellent in portraying a lawyer, it is the lines that comes out of James` mouth, what he does and how badly he does it, which makes my jaw drop. But I am not going to repeat all of that over again. Let me just say that compared to him I think Sinead, the nurse, is very capable. She admittedly is very hot headed and impulsive, yes. But I also think we have seen she is very good at putting two and two together. She was the first to suspect Laurie, although she didn`t realize exactly what was going on, she was well aware something was going on long before he turned on her as well. I am not sure what they can do with the character of James, now that Harry is gone. With all this supposed love he feels for Harry, would it be possible to pair him up with someone else. Or will the Jarry fans become the new Stendan fans, not wanting to see James with anyone other than Harry. I find exiting Harry to be a disastrous decision. Not to mention very unkind to an actor who has been loyal to the show for such a long time. And the hit and run SL... Oh, give me a break. It is just weird to see the evidence being looked so little into by both the police and the defense as has been the case. In real life Harry would have been cleared of suspicion as soon as video footage placed him on a bus at the same time as his car and his phone were closer to town. All this nonsense there has been instead, and the unbelievably ridiculous ending to it all, made me so fed up with Hollyoaks I stopped watching for two weeks time. Only returned cause another friend informed me the Ste grooming storyline was starting to develop the way I had expressed hopes it would. Obviously this was before Jed confided in Ste. Cause that was just too weird to be believable. We are meant to buy that someone who in secret has collected evidence against the gang, after having woken up to the fact he has been conned into something he has no control over, would risk everything by confiding in a boyfriend he only has known for a few weeks? That scene was such a disappointment to me. But it is late, so I have to stop. As always, though, very interesting to exchange views with you. We may not always agree about everything, but I respect your views, and learn a lot from seeing characters and storylines sometimes from another angle, other times discover other aspects of them are given more weight. But now I really have to go! Take care!:-)

@@Tvjunkieful12 The actor who played Harry had the intention to leave anyway so that is why they took the decision to make him leave the show by him being killed. It would be stupid to cut off an actor/character that is very popular in a show just like that. What will happen with James we will see. I myself find it entertaining or interesting when well educated people like James mess up, become criminal and make mistakes. That is why I wanna watch him whether it´s realistic or not. I don´t watch fiction to expect things to be as it is in real life and especially not in soaps. Will Breda be discovered and all the people she has killed?? What will happen to Donna Marie? Is she still in jail? Will we get an answer? Nobody knows, so don´t expect too much of a silly soap. I see it for what it is. There are many things with this storyline about radicalisation that is not realistic or good enough. We haven´t heard everything that Stuart and Jonny have said and done to Ste to make things trustworthy. People like Jed could easily make mistakes like confiding in Ste as he saw him as equal with similar background. As I see it none of them are so clever or sharp. It´s not so easy to brainwash someone that is clever/smart/sharp/sensitive/strong enough. Will we actually know what happened to Jed? Is he still in the gang or has he been thrown out and threatened to not call the police? The fact that if someone calls the police they will all be behind bars should make Ste completely terrified now. He should understand that what they are up to or do without him knowing is really criminal acts. If I was in Ste´s shoes I would have wondered why these two guys are so eager to help me. It would have been a wake up call in a very early stage. You don´t want to feel that you owe people things, that is never good. The way Stuart and Jonny treat Ste is really disgusting. He should feel that they can throw him out any second if he goes against their will and he should live in constant fear. The fact that Peri and Yasmine found out that Jonny isn´t a brother made Ste angry but wanted to stay with Jonny anyway. Why?? Maybe the truth was too painful to handle so it´s easier to live in denial. The way Ste reacts now is like he was a retarded idiot. Not trustworthy. In my opinion Jed should only show the police what he had and that´s it. But unfortunately people make mistakes even in real life. And no I wasn´t surprised that Stuart wanted Ste to beat Jed as this is often how it works in gangs. That scene though disappointed me as Ste would have shown more doubt, fear and started to say no and question the violence towards an equal person like Jed but later felt the need to do what he was told to avoid consequences/being beaten himself by Stuarts men. Shocking things will happen the spoilers said. If that means that Stuart will "force" Ste to hurt someone for life or even kill someone we will see. It would be really interesting to see what would happen to Ste if he did so. There are many people out there who have been brainwashed and been "forced" to kill others to not be hurt or killed themselves. How will the police act and how will the legal system judge in these cases. I think about one case in Sweden in a religious surrounding with a young mentally weak woman who was brainwashed and the brain (a man) behind it who ended up in prison (Knutbydramat). A very strange case and I don´t compare this woman to Ste but it came up in my mind. Don´t remember what happened to the woman. But as I wrote before, don´t expect too much of a soap. Ste has a criminal past and has beaten people before so violence isn´t strange to him but I thought that he had grown up a bit and the fact that he has three children that are growing up.

@@ann-christinenilsson4046 I remember Knutby-saken, as it was called in Norway, the Norwegian "pastor" and the woman Åsa. But as I recall there were serious question marks to who the true psychopath and ring leader was in that case. And if the murders were done by instruction/influence from the "pastor," or if they were done independently of his influence, but believed by the perpetrator to help him. There were even question marks raised as to whether the motive could be jealousy to get rid of rivals for the "pastor`s" attention and favor, or if it could be an internal battle for position and status within the sect. But I only know that case from the media at the time, so you might have more accurate and updated information about it all, than I have. I do know a little bit about criminal gangs and how they operate, and therefore is well aware the internal justice in those types of organisations/groups can be extremely ruthless when it comes to believed snitches or rats, as they are often called. Which is why I found it so odd someone in Jed`s situation, when he hadn`t been discovered before, would be so stupid to talk like that to someone in Ste`s situation. Jed knew how financially and emotionally tied to Stuart and Johnny Ste was, cause he had been there himself. Which is why I find it extremely unlikely he would have been stupid enough to confide in Ste. If he had wanted to help Ste, he would have done so through his police contact/handler. He would not have taken such a huge risk so close to achieving his freedom from the gang`s grip - no way. Had he managed to work in silence collecting evidence and stay in contact with the police for so long, he would not have risked spoiling it by telling someone like Ste. That is simple survival instinct, and hasn`t got too much to do about intelligence. Although having managed to not be detected, and at the same time to be in contact with his police contact, might suggest Jed is not among the more stupid of his kind. In regard to not expecting too much from a silly soap, I see things a little bit different than you. I don`t think of Hollyoaks as a silly soap. I think of it as a potential harmful influence which reaches millions of people, mostly in the UK, 5 times a week, and therefore is a major influence on both how people in the UK see themselves and their country and culture, but also how other people around the world, who watch Hollyoaks, sees the British people and society. So the more true to life and accurate the show is in every aspect from character personalities to themes and institutions, procedures, routines, laws, diagnosis and more, of more use the show will be as an information platform to help create understanding, acceptance and respect for and among various groups of the British people. But the more inaccurate, not authentic, illogical and more the show is, the more potential for conflicts and dismay between the same groups of people the show could stir up, simply by misrepresent facts and personalities, conditions and situations to such an extreme people started to hate other groups of people in real life for unfair and wrong reasons, simply because they believed what they had seen on the show. I see evidence of the latter everyday in the comments. If it is one thing Hollyoaks manages remarkably well, it is to stir up hate and anger. And I don`t see that as a good thing. What we call hate and anger very often is a mask covering the true emotions of hurt, fear and insecurity. But in Hollyoaks it is being presented as strength, power and resolve - exactly as the white supremacists, ISIS and other extremist groups like to paint their own hate and anger (despite it very often is nothing but fear and insecurity). Therefore the Hollyoaks comment sections could be just as harmful as 8chan (which was the site the El Paso gunman posted his "manifesto" on), and other extremist sites used to express hate and vent anger. It is not the purpose of the channel in itself, or what is being said on it, which is important - but what type of emotions it stirs up within those who watch the clips and read the comments. That doesn`t mean I think Hollyoaks should stop making the show, stop loading up teaser clips or close their comment section! That would have been a disaster, cause then we would not have known how various types of content made viewers feel and react. But they should perhaps be more attentive to how the storylines and characters they create could influence viewers, and to a larger extent have the issues and type of personalities they present more authentically reflect how they are in real life?

He has just been so heavily brainwashed thqt he has forgotten his own self. Mercedes shouldn't be married, ever. She can't be faithful. I'm disgusted that once again, she's putting her gross affair above her family. She's even spending less time with bobby as a result of this. She's too old to act like this. Yes, in the past she had cheated but at this age, it's just weird and sad. I thought she had matured when she was with joe but she's back to how she used to be. Selfish and stupid. What's annoying about her is that every time her affair is revealed, she would try to win them back because she wants what she can't have. Silver deserves way better than her. He should be with grace. At least she would appreciate him.
