I can see why Sinead can't live with Diane because of Finn. But it doesn't justify Sinead's harsh actions to Diane. Disowning and not telling or inviting Diane to attend her wedding was just too far. Diane can't help feel bad for Finn and give him another chance because he's her son. If something life-threatening happens to Diane, Sinead will come to regret everything for the rest of her life.

@Chloe Bushell Ste trusts Johnny and Stuart because they stuck by him and took care of him and his kids in his time of need when his sister, Tegan died, Harry left him for James, and his food truck generating his own source of income got burnt down. No one actually bothered to help Ste out other than calling him a racist monster, calling the cops on him, and disowning him.

Try to see it from SInead`s point of view? Her brother is a constant reminder of what Laurie did to her, and how he made her feel. She doesn`t need that now, when she is trying to get on with her life. Finn`s presence is making that process harder than it would have been, had he not been there. Rapists comes in many shapes and forms, some are possible to rehabilitate - others never will change. Unfortunately some of the latter category are very good pretending to be full of remorse and willingness to change for the better - while some of the ones which truly has been rehabilitated never are given a chance to prove as much, cause no one wants to take that risk. It is too early to conclude whether Finn is genuine, or looking for an easy life and to slip under the radar. But from how he manipulated his mother when she visited him in jail, I still fear he may not be as genuine as he appears, since he seems very careful to say and do what he needs to get his way - but doesn`t really go out of his way with regrets and apologizing to his mother and sister for what he has caused them, and his victims. So I fear he may even use his frustration over not being believed to have changed, as an excuse to commit new rapes. Or would, had this been real life. Hollyoaks most likely have brought Finn back as a reformed character. But in real life it is far more difficult to separate between a rehabilitated rapist, and one which still could pose a threat. Which is why I find it unfair to condemn Sinead for not wanting Finn around. Which is why I think it is a bad idea to let violent criminals of any kind return to the area where they committed their crimes. I think convicted violent criminals of any category should be wearing GPS transponders (perhaps even with built in camera and recording functions - which would be deleted and played over, should they not be needed as evidence). That way, instead of the police having to interview modus candidates for every rape, armed robbery or whatever, they could simply check if any previous convicted individuals had been near the crime at the time it was committed. And instead of the police wasting days to interview and trouble previous convicted people, but who were innocent of the crime in question, their list of candidates to interview could have been made significantly shorter, if only those whose GPS showed them to have been in the area had been interviewed, and would have had their footage and audio from the relevant times checked. In addition to making the police`s job both quicker and easier, it also likely would have served as a deterrent, preventing violent criminals from re-offending, since it would mean jail time for them whether they re-offended, or "just" disabled the GPS transponder and video and audio recorder.

@@Harmony233 As I understand it, their family is quite separated in terms of beliefs and traditional (ancient) ways of doing things. Imran had already run around like some sort of freaky Imam and the wedding organisator was planning for some ritual way with the 2 thrones and crap. Sami might be arrogant but he is but into these ancient ways, neither the awkward clothing nor the strange rituals. So I doubt he'll force Sinead into any quaran crap or let others do that. Sinead on the other hand might even dive into that stuff willingly ...

The Maaliks seems quite moderate muslims. I know a few people like that myself, and trust me when I say there are some far right christians with far more restrictive views on women than anything we have seen with the Maaliks. There are christian sects and churches where women are not allowed to speak in public, nor to have a say in the running of things. Admittedly there are many mosques that can be said about too. But that does not change the fact that there are more moderate views and interpretations of the faith, and it therefore is both unfair and incorrect to generalize who muslims are, and to conclude that the instructions and restrictions they live their life by are the same for all. Cause they are not.
