Some friendly advice from one pirate to another, docking a rowboat to the Sovereign stand will stop mermaid spawns. You'll get one if you wander away too far, but if you're just looking to set up an ambush, great way to gain the upper hand.

This video reminds me of a certain conversation I had on the official discord some time ago. One guy was complaining that loot de-spawned from the crow's nest. He said, "I left my Athena chest up there and only a half-hour later it was gone." I said, "Mate, I'm not sure how to tell you this... ...but I don't think it de-spawned..."

I love those kind of heists. Favorite of mine was when I swam to reapers and just hopped in the selling circle a galleon crew was doing and sold about 15 items, mostly full treasure chest, before they realized I was there.

Mason, Here’s an idea for a fort heist- Step 1. Strategically plant your boat at an island to force your target to a certain outpost Step 2. Plant any type of rowboat with a keg or two in it at a rock or island near where you intend for the target to go Step 3. Simply hijack the ship towards your rowboat or ship ( whichever is nearest ) Step 4. use keg rowboat or your ship to sink, then “borrow” all that loot It’s genius.

This guy is such a bad influence. I have been such a pain in the butt lately. I had a FOTD duo that I stowed away on their ship and when they went in I pulled up their anchor dropped their sails and sent the ship on its' way with a banana on the stove. By the time they figured out it was gone it was miles away. Then once I saw one of them go back to the ship via mermaid I hit the second guy with a dual pistol shot and dropped him. I had nearly everything out of the vault and buried by the time they got back just sat hidden near the vault watching them come back and realize all the loot was gone. then I realized I could probably do the same thing but send their ship roughly in the direction of where mine is parked then mermaid back and meet it half way, sink the ship and then when they mermaid they end up somewhere random. Then you could just head back to the island and wait it out until they figure out the ship is gone. You see one or both mermaid away and then you basically got the island all to yourself. I do wish there was a way to leave notes in this game.
