I love these fits so much! I will admit I'm pretty nervous for tumblr/ballet aesthetics to come back because they tended to lean more thin/white in terms of who "could" wear the style, I hope this time around we can make those styles much more inclusive! 🥰💕
@piplupinabasket90352 жыл бұрын
Considering I’ve already seen people celebrate the return of these types of trends specifically BECAUSE of the body types that follow it…I’m not overly hopeful :’) Also do love that people are acting like thin white bodies haven’t always been ‘in’ just cause what…the Kardashians are a thing? Still hard to fit yourself into clothes outside of cheap ‘baddie’ Fashion Nova styles if you’re anything but thin and straight framed…
@Maddie-sj7qn2 жыл бұрын
@@piplupinabasket9035 Yeah :( I 100% agree that thin/white bodies have always been the standard, I just think it's even more so in those specific styles. It sucks to hear that people like those styles specifically cause they uphold those standards. 😞💗
@Crystallheard2 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I'm thinking. I've been in ED recovery for years. And I'm so scared of skinny body types becoming fashion again. Leggings and low rise jeans are my worst nightmare. I was so happy with all the cute oversize things don't take that away from me. I'm of course aware that I can just skip those trends don't worry! But you're right if we can just celebrate them in a way that everyone can enjoy them without shame, that would be great!

I can also see the retro futurism manifest in a late 90s eurodance rave style as well! Which would also make sense given the rising popularity of hyperpop and y2k aesthetics.

I hope Mars Argo feels the call and comes back. She was the moment. :(. Also, I think my favorite forms of twee fashion are the 2014 movie God Help The Girl and also Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom. The outfits in those films feel just as playful but a lot more cohesive and iconic, they are cute and fun and don't elicit a migraine. THAT is the kind of twee I love. As well as like 2014 ModCloth before Walmart bought it out.

Soft grunge AA model reminds me of what a lot of DIY KZbinrs 2014 would wear and don't forget the choker necklace. The layering in all the outfits is great.

I personally dont follow trends because they are temporary, but my usual style can be one in the same with balletcore and tumblr girl/egirl. I love tutus, graphic tees, mini dresses and skirts. Lots of black and pale pink. I love the idea that since I have a style of my own now, I won't feel like I look like everyone else. Trends can create that "uniform" look, but anyone can wear a trend in their own way, which does make it more unique.
