Hey and welcome to another installment of my Star Citizen PvP Bounty Hunting Diary. This week, I go all out to prove I am the most legit Bounty Hunter by using melee weapons and stealth to arrest my targets. Watch as I use my targets' own decisions against them and complete this very satisfying gameplay loop!

other mmo have a timer if you log out in a fight. your body stay in the game for a while. think it will be done in SC too at some point.

Great gameplay. Absolutely abysmal that the game shows you the pinpoint position of the target though... why not just give you full wall hacks at that point?

Yeah I wish there was more nuance to it. They are on about having a scan mechanic in the future where you'd only get your target's last known position when they do things like use a terminal etc. I think when Pyro comes in it will make more sense as you won't get the marker for your target there, so if you're a criminal, it's a definite risk coming to Stanton.

Crime makes for good gameplay. Bounty is the completion of the gameplay loop. All good stuff keep it up

Its Star Citizen...until people take it serious its going to be fish in a barrel. When you need to take them alive, then thats a thing to worry about. Until its sorted just do the job and move on to the next.

Anything that results in the bounty target going to prison-from you killing them to quitting out, backspacing, or they turn themselves in-should count as a successful bounty for the hunter. If for no other reason than your pursuit contributing to pressuring them into accepting the prison sentence. I’d rather players get pay outs because they accepted a bounty seconds before the person smashed into their hanger doors than see players constantly deprived payouts because of game shortfalls. The system should always err on the side of rewarding player time instead of wasting it.

I completely agree with you - due to the nature of how reputation and failing missions works, you end up with a lot more negative reputation losses because of the fail states. It should only really count as failed if the target kills me. Any other reason should at least result in no rep lost if I'm not actually the one to take them out. Just makes no sense that if someone logs out, it fails me and I lose rep. But yeah completely agree with all your points. Cheers for commenting.

@@Lofty_o7 Everything around reputation seems to be at odds with their intended game design atm. For example, they charge the most money for multicrew ships, but sharing a mission with your friend doesn’t just result in fewer credits each, it also reduces the reputation reward for each of you. So even if the two of you pool money for a ship, you’re still progressing slower because of the reputation reduction. Which is super wild. Why would the cops care how many people were with me when I eliminated some super high value target? “Oh that Piper is great, they got the worst target we’ve ever had.” “But there was a gunner in the back seat of Piper’s purpose-built and marketed two seat fighter.” “You right, you right, gotta mark’em down for that.” - Every reputation giver in SC, apparently.

Who the hell woukd say you are griefing a criminal you have a bounty for...if you dont want bounty hunters being assigned to kill you by the game, dont break the law?

Right?! At least I try to make it interesting. Every other player would just straight up kill on sight.

@@Lofty_o7 I mean yeah you are doing a channel so of course make it interesting for viewers if you can. But to say you are greifing by just playing the game is nuts, or its greifing if you arent being super sporting about it. Criminals arent going to be sporting about it if they get the drop on you.
