Well... looks like a nice starter kit. I think newcomers to the hobby will not look that much into accuracy, rather they will enjoy the easy fit and simple colour scheme with few decals. Great little video, Alex.

as someone who is new to model kits and is doing this kit right now i think it would be better to build this kit as it was intended with just the included stuff and the recommended basic tools. I think it would provide a better perspective of what to actually expect as most people buying this kit are going to be beginners and some of the details like the panel markings are just a little too complex for beginner i recon.

Looks great, not sure I'll go for the excellent RAM marking of yours though, which is very cool! Alas, my A2 fuselage section has a huge warp on the port-side horizontal stabiliser... 😬 - hopefully that will get replaced, by Airfix's excellent customer service/spares team. Yep, that pilot looks like a 12 year old is in charge, where how that came out so small ... 😀 Totally agree, it is a great starter set.

Overall great build, however one tiny little criticism is that on the canopy, F-35s are kinda weird in which the little line that traditionally goes on the outside (ie, the eurofighter, f/a-18, etc) is on the inside and in black. Again great job

I did paint this black, and Airfix have the moulding on the outside - which I know isn't correct, but as presented like this you kinda need to paint it like that or do a lot of work correcting it.

Looks good. Do I correctly gather that it will stand on its tricycle landing gear without additional nose weight? A con-di nozzle must be difficult for a kit manufacturer, is it con or is it di or in between? Depends on flight regime I suppose. I like the shaddow stand though perhaps a transparent "leg" might have been better. I like it is longer than the stands we used to get. Judging as a starter kit, you should, perhaps, have used the paint and cement supplied, otherwise the ordinary (no paint etc) version would be appropriate. I think the larger brush is still a bit small for coverage of that large area without bad brush marks.

Yes, it stands on its gear without any additional weight - in fact its very stable

I bought this kit this week. It is let down by 3 issues. The engine nozzle, the pilot figure and really annoyingly the moulded pod under the nose. In all reference material I’ve studied this is transparent. Minor niggle is that you don’t get any pylons or weapons to build it it in “beast” mode. But for under £20 this feels like a bargain. Excellent video, thanks

@@peterjackson5373 agreed .while it does have a few minor "issues" we have to remember who its aimed at...the complete beginner /newbie to the hobby and for less than £20 in the uk its a bargain...mind you i dont know how much in euro it is as im in Ireland and not even sure if my local hobby shop even has it yet

I agree with all your points. For me, the deal breaker is that rear nozzle - it ruins the entire look of the aircraft. Molding it in its proper shape would have broken the bank? I will not be buying this starter kit for anyone. 🤨

You get the same issue with all of Airfix's starter sets. The included paints and glue are garbage. I think you would be hard pushed to build one of these in just 1 hour. Using just the paints and glue in the box. Airfix should have done a proper 1/72 scale kit of this subject, with better detail, and features such as open weapon bays etc.

I’m sorry but I only made it to 3 minutes into the video before the background music became too much and I stopped watching. While background music may seam a good idea if you like that particular type of music it is very off annoying if you don’t. This is the reason why various councils and companies have started to play classical music in areas where antisocial behaviour has been taking place where unruly teenagers have been hanging about at night. Please reconsider using music in your videos as it may be costing you potential subscribers without you realising it.

I'm sorry, but I've had the same video format and have grown to 13,000 subs in a year - I don't think this is really harming my channel. If you don't like the background music (which is very quiet compared to the narration), you can lower the volume or mute and use captions, or - as you may choose to - watch a different channel. I've had positive responses from the great majority of people (yours is the second such comment in one year), so I won't be changing.
