Fantastic, I never knew anything about Steamboats. I have been on the St. Lawrence for 35 years on Lake St Luis and never seen one. Fantastic!

Sweet ! Classical music and steamboats. Those boats were marvelous...would do everything but pull a water skier :) God bless you, Scott.

Seeing your name reminded me, forgot to add song names in description I think? Have to check when I’m back at computer. Been doing that lately, very end of description.

While it's sad to see a wooden boat die. I'm glad to see that you will deconstruct this Skiff for use in other boats. Or will you make a coffee table out of the engine?

I've got plans for that engine, and it's not a coffee table. That will be revealed sometime this season when I'm sure. The transmission is being removed tomorrow and headed to Georgia to have the gear reduction removed so it is a 1:1.

Those steamboats were amazing. Such a labor of love. Are all of those boats from the TI region?

No, all over the place. They are awesome!

How do they refill the boiler with water? Is it pumped directly from the lake or is it poured in from above with such as a pail? Great video! I enjoyed it. JIM

I’m not an expert but I think all of these boats have recirculating water systems which only need water added occasionally during use. There are steam boats that draw in water to the boilers from whatever body of water they are on and exhaust the steam back out of the boat at the end of the cycle. I didn’t see a boat there like that.
