Is that the pilot light or a jet engine?
@chaplint705 жыл бұрын
@@throttlebottle5906 I was reading where just the pilot light alone can use as much gas as a high efficiency furnace during a winter season. Seeing this one, I can believe it!

10-12 yr warranty for steam. I think megasteam is longer..but that's oil, not gas. I'd put a Weil in and balance the outputs with double drop headers for more dry steam.The hartford loop looked screwed up too. You have to blow-down those model 67's weekly..the bellows clog mid-season if you don't flush.

"Fragrance of bakery", first thing in the morning, had to have been the best start to a day - which Steve's had in a while! With my luck, I'd be greeted with sewerage backups for the rest of the week....

If it’s worth anything to anyone who has a crown boiler, we’re on our 3rd heat exchanger for a steam boiler installed in 2005, for residential use. I don’t think a compromised heat exchanger in a crown boiler is uncommon.

Steve the way I see it is nobody warranties something for over 16 years. That's a damn shitshow. Peace brother

Must have a hole in one of the sections above the water line. Look for steam coming out the chimney outside.

If that boiler’s for use in the baking process that’d explain it’s short life. Having to do that and constantly taking in make up water lost in the baking process would be hard on any boiler.

Hit it on the nose !

I have heard that in this particular application placing a water heater inline with the feed water can reduce this by allowing the chemical and physical properties that corrode boilers constantly taking in water to be attack the water heater first. When the water heater reaches the boiler it’s for lack of a better term less hungry and of course an el cheapo electric water heater is much less expensive to replace than a boiler.

My 1949 American Standard steam boiler oil fired was replaced in 2013. 64 yrs young, and nothing wrong with it. Converted to gas and hot water. I wonder if the replacement Burnham series 2 will last the same 😂.

I was thinking what is 64 hours old? I realized years. I have an old one too that I plan to replace this summer and I am scared.

Boiler looks to have rusted right out mama. Who knows might be the humidity from the bakery.
@Bob.W.5 жыл бұрын
Less than 16 years and at least one section has a hole in it. Not good. Should last 3 times that long.
@Bob.W.5 жыл бұрын
If that is process steam and the water is not treated I can understand how it got a hole in 16 years. Way too much make-up water I would guess. Anyone?
@erikj.20665 жыл бұрын
Looks like someone replaced the everything on it. Could very well have had a bad feeder before that caused it to run low on water, and cook the sections.
@Bob.W.5 жыл бұрын
@@erikj.2066 lwco should have prevented that. It had a MM mechanical lwco.
@joshb1245 жыл бұрын
I think you’re right, he did a video before on that bread oven. Probably used as process steam to rise the bread. Constantly taking on fresh water I assume.
@Bob.W.5 жыл бұрын
I would think there should be some sort of water treatment to scavage oxygen before it goes to the boiler.

Hey Steve, I love your channel, I learn quite a bit from it. I was wondering what kind of camera you use when you go inside of homes? Is it one you can wear on your body while leaving your hands free to work?

@rickw41605 жыл бұрын
I dont think the "steam" is being used for proofing directly, at least I hope not. While possible, proofing takes place at much lower temps, with sometimes higher humidity. That aside, if it was used directly to convert to steam, the temps would be too high, and also this boiler would have died a long time ago- the gunk bucket would be substantially dirtier. Think about the gallons of water needed per day, and all the mineral buildup and crap... you'd have to drain and flush daily!
@DAS-Videos5 жыл бұрын
I agree, who would tap into the steam boiler to get steam for cooking. It is like taping into a hot water boiler to get the hot water to make tea.

A proofing box is where the yeast is activated in the dough.
