To me the railways are a passion. They are great monuments that should be forever preserved. The lines themselves are great feats of engineering to drive a nation and Empire forwards in leaps and bounds. And the engines themselves are magnificent engineering dinosaurs. They were built for one job only - to work and work even more. The remainder relax in retirement but often enjoy giving a blast to show the public what they can do. Loved this program years ago and really glad I found it on here.

"Once you have been over the top with the Duchess of Hamilton, the memory stays with you." So, so true. I think it is one of life's greatest tragedies that no one at the NRM seems to want this engine back out on the mainline where she belongs.
