I have some Wii games downloaded I mostly play Brawl as I can use a normal Controller layout but for other games that didn't use a gamepad there's way's to mimic the motion controls I can't figure it our for the life of me one day I'll spend an hour or 2 messing with that.

If your micro SD card isn't being detected, or won't format on your steam deck.. Insert the micro SD card into a PC and format it there using 'NTFS' and then insert it back into the steam deck. Then EmuDeck should be able to read it.

Thumbs up, I appreciate the effort. The process is straightforward and anyone with some computer knowledge should be able to do this as it is mostly self-explanatory. The tricky part is getting down the quirks of the specific emulatora and sometimes to run specific games. For advice on those topics you'll still have to sift through reddit and/or shady websites....

Yes you can indeed just download a rom and move it to the roms file in your ssd and it just works just load it up and in the emulator and it should work I did it with the ds one for Mario bros and it worked fine didn’t need any extra files but not sure for any others

@@quartzfae ya I just downloaded the rom unzipped it and moved it into ssd and where the emulation is and moved it to whatever emulator I needed and loaded it up in gaming mode and it worked fine no issue

Question: When I drag and drop the roms to the deck from my external harddrive, do I need to have them in folders named ROMS, BIOS, ETC, or will the emudeck setup process know what it's looking for in that entire directory? I have a drive that has all of my games backed up, and separated into folders named for each system they are for. Do I need to change that?

if you want super cheap and works great but isn't a dock i bought "SABRENT Multi Port USB C Hub with 4K HDMI | Type C Power Delivery (60 Watts) Port | 1 USB 3.0 Port | 2 USB 2.0 Ports (HB-TC5P) " and a standard like 7 dollar plain dock. it worked better then the official steam deck dock

Well theoretically you should be able to download roms via browser then just copy them from your download location to the SD card formatted with emudeck, will check it when I get a decent SD card

You don't need an external hard drive, just copy roms into a proper folder on your card from any source

After I plug in my 128gb USB C Flash Drive and click "Create BIOS and Roms Folders" it still says "Creating EmuDeck Folders". I have the option to select Skip For Now or I can wait. Should this prompt me and does it normally take awhile? What am I doing wrong???

I have EmuDeck installed in SteamDeck and play games from the Emulation Station. The PSP games work pretty well for me, but the GBC games have terrible sound and run really slow. Similarly, games from the GBA and NDS do as well. Could someone please advise me what this could be? Is there anything special I need to set up to emulate older handhelds?

I fixed this issue by reinstalling everything. I had previously installed emudeck half a year ago and haven’t updated it until now. I deleted everything and reinstalled it like how this video tells you and now it works 👍

I think its too difficult to get it to work. Following instructions I run into problems. First my memory cards are not named primary and external so that is confusing. I spend my gaming time trying to get it to work and it still don't work. I do have a game that works on my pc but when copying it and the bios over to steam deck it shows to not have the bios and the game has a question mark on it.

@@matthewmatyszczak1024 I’m sorry, I accidentally answered another question. Regarding yours, it’s easy. Just use the Emudeck installer to install ps2/ps3 on your first sd card. Then redo the installation and install switch etc on that card instead. You will have all the folders etc on both cards but you’ll only drag n drop games for the systems you want on each card.

You need to run Cemu.exe (the emulator) in compatibility mode and select proton 7 from there. It's in the properties settings. If you right click cemu in Steam.

Is it possible to have some games saved to home/steam library and others only accessible through Emulation Station. Ideal Example scenario: I want all Pokemon ROMs saved to steam library-nonsteam games(via Steam ROM Manager). Yes, it’s super easy I actually forgot to mention it in the video. You just click on each boxart and it’ll be greyed out. Then that game won’t show in your steam shelf.

Totally agree! These are really good videos about how to install EmuDeck or another emulation system. However, none of these videos explain how to get the videos games or how they are called ROMs within the Steam Deck.
