I consider myself as a person who spents WAY too much time on steam/itch/etc. to find obscure or lesser known games. So whenever one of those "HIDDEN GEMS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT" videos pop up, I am usually disappointed, because most of the games in the video are so easily discoverable... Your videos are different so far. I only knew like 3-5 games in this list. And every title you presented got me interested in the game. In addition , your style of presentation is more than just reading off the steam store page so...yeah. Great video. Thanks for the work!

As someone currently developing a game seriously, it breaks my heart to see games with a top 10% level of polish, innovative and with a reasonable scope not even having 500 reviews. Some of these devs might have put a lot of passion, time and money from their own pockets to get their project out there, following every guidelines regarding project management but probably failed at marketing. Thank you for sharing their work, hope it will allow some of them to actually make a profit out of their game and being able to make more. I recently saw a game called Schim that released last week, beautiful little puzzle game about jumping from shadow to shadow, and there's like 60 reviews and the game isn't pushed forward by steam. Breaks my heart. If you want to check out, definitely a hidden gems in the making. Wish the best to all my devs out there. Peace

Including the title screen of each game is a great stylistic choice. Thanks again for being the only channel that shows actual hidden gems.

It's terrific that people like you exist in this world. To highlight smaller under-rated games is a huge favour to the small dev teams and I can imagine it's very much appreciated. SkillUp always gets my respect when he highlights the smaller overlooked titles in his Put This On Your Radar section, and what you're doing here is just as amazing, so thank you. (I'm an indie dev myself, so I'm a little bias). :)

On note of Sunshine Heavy Industries, the same group made the more recent game called Cobalt Core, which is one of my top games for this year. It's a deck-builder roguelike with decent variety, humor, and a nice story. I got it for $15 during a Steam sale, and was very happy with it. Also, Aaron Cherof's soundtrack is phenomenal (Lawless, Self-Defense ftw).

If not for Balatro it would be roguelite of the year (maybe it was published in 2023 I'm not sure). Everyone should check it out because it's a little less approachable than Balatro but just as good

Yet again so many games that look quite special and rare from most other lists. Gosh dang, you do sweet work. Thank you for the time and effort. I remember 8-BitRyan playing The Heilwald Loophole, and it's a fun surprise to hear you speak of Maximo! Didn't expect that today! In my comment on your last video of Steam Games You've Been Missing Out On, i've been mentioning a little list (not from the opera The Mikado). Since then i found a few more. Did i mention The Dungeon Experience, My Familiair, Bad Boro, Zet Zillions, Pillory, Immortal: And the Death that Follows and Ruffy and the Riverside back then?

Most games I like aesthetically turn out to be another roguelike and I get disappointed again. I like games with handmade levels, definite progression and stable difficulty. I don't understand how roguelikes got so popular that every other indie game is one.

i'm not sure how i feel about how NO ONE IS DOING some of the ideas i've come up with that i'd like to see. i have an MMO RPG idea that i'm not too surprised no one is doing. But basically, there are TWO factions, but you can only make a character for the "other" faction after you do a certain thing in the game. It's "PvP" turned on it's head. And there are no "monsters" until a player "brings it" into the world. And it will look alot like a farming game until such. My other game idea i'm surprised no one is doing is a take on Sonic and Tails. One character is "powerful" and mobile, while the other character is just "utility and repair" but the "powerful" character has to let the other character recharge them. imagine an RPG where one player controls a total DPS character that can dodge all damage and the other player is a healer that can buff. With how many games seem to be making sure everything is symmetrical i'm kinda worried about that direction.
