@@dragonrider3965 Dude it doesn't work with the latest Steam software, I followed the instruction but Steam still downloads the full game in the background, it says the installation needs 4-5 hours!!! I believe Steam is against full games on discs because otherwise Steam would die, this is what happens when a greedy corporate decided to became a monopoly, I HATE Steam!

The Doom disk only has about 7 gb on it, and the rest (47GB) has to be downloaded through Steam.

I am trying to (re)install Skyrim from a real, legal DVD. Steam is now busy downloading OVER 5 gigs at 2 MB/s, which (so it says) will take TWENTY minutes. I have a page at the Steam support page open on how to install from disk: that does not work in the year 2019. Back in the old days, I threw in a disk, hit setup.exe and started playing games after a few minutes. Now it takes over TWENTY F***ING minutes. Don't you love progress?
