Thank you! My father has quite a knack for re-purposing rusty bits laying about the shop! It's a safe setup that throws the handle clear if the engine decides to turn over on its own.

Excellent! Thank you for posting. I had some sound issues but the video was well worth watching in spite of that small quirk. Maybe one day I’ll get to steam.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been trying to figure out how to edit/clean up some audio artifacts in the software I use... It's never too early to get started, and there are many boats available right now for incredibly low prices.

Wesley Harcourt I have my eye on one now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

neat set up!

dgmarklin Thank you! She's changed a little bit since the video... Buick Grand National turbocharger on the engine exhaust to induce draft, 9 gallon custom aluminium fuel tank to replace the backpack fire pump tank in front of the boiler, and a new cylinder block for the engine with a piston valve on the high pressure cylinder.

Matthew Screaton it's doing very well, thank you. Finally about to get the big one in the water. It's been a long journey.

Is that an antique engine or did you guys cast and build it? Beautiful.
@WesleyHarcourtSTEAMandMORE7 жыл бұрын
Shane K the engine is a Scripps Compound 3-1/2"+5"×4" made by Scripps Foundry and Machine in Texas. It was built in the 1970's and up until relatively recently they were still selling castings for them. I have some of the patterns for the engine to make more castings. I appreciate the kind words.
