Hi mate, it is not what appears. The 0800 run is the 1st half of Tumulla and then the return at Perthville. The South Bathurst shot is the 2nd run and the top of Tumulla is the 3rd run. Cheers.

Was the diesel loco pushing or just along forwthe ride

It appeared to be letting the steam engines do the work up the hill as that is what the people onboard wanted so only on the return did it work. This was my observation.
