Once again you have given us a bit of realism. That is how it was in the 1960's, hard working steam and then one day a diesel showed up on a service and it never went back to steam. They were sad days for the steam enthusiast.
@MouldyRaspberry2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David. Sad indeed, I promise any diesel hauled services you see here will go back to steam!

Hi Lewis. Nice to see that little ex GWR tank loco. I had to think to myself of the shot of that little tank engine making its way across the canal bridge reminded me of a Walt Disney film { Dumbo I think it was } where the little engine in the film is saying, I quote, I think I can I think I can as goes up the hill and on the way down its saying I thought I could I thought I could etc etc . thank you again Lewis for a nice video of you smashing layouts.

It seems much more realistic with smaller tank engines at Misselthwaite, as it's such an out of the way place. But that means you can't show off your lovely big tender engines there.

Looking better than ever! 'There's the Railway Children!' at ~9'45"??? ! Like it. Just a thought. Could you run more than one at once - a through express or something, with a local passenger or goods shunting in the sidings, or just a static 'train' in a siding? Al.
@MouldyRaspberry2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Al! Only one moving at a time, as it’s analogue rather than digital, although I could have a stationary train. I usually do that at Pondon where two trains pass each other. That said I have been thinking about perhaps making the switch to DCC.

Great video as always, just wondering what sound decoder or speaker you used in the pannier tank, lovely deep sound makes mine sound tinny! By the way videos of my layout can be found on Melbury Junction if you fancy a look.
@MouldyRaspberry2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, I’ll have a look. I actually cheap and edit the sounds over the top of the videos!
@ModelTrainOutsider2 жыл бұрын
Lewis... I will shorten the gushung at the gorgeous trains and your layout so I can get to a question... How extensive is your sound catalog? Do you pick them up off various sites, did you buy files? DO you have a very varied collection of sounds which you can match to the locos presented? In other words, do you have a Black 5 sound file to match a Black 5 model, and so on?
@MouldyRaspberry2 жыл бұрын
All the sound files are actually videos, mostly stuff I’ve filmed at heritage railways, and then I extract the audio from these for the videos. I have a couple of folders on my phone with different types of sounds, like pulling away, arriving, coasting, fast running, diesels and then three cylinder locos. In each I have about 10-20 or so files, other than coasting where I have about 50 🤣 I don’t always match the exact loco up, but I usually go for something similar just because it’s easier to get the speed/whistle sounds closer.
@kellyashfordtrains26422 жыл бұрын
You should have sneaked the diesel in at the beginning. I hate it when diesels are left till last. I don't like your Class 27, he should be on the scrap heap. Happy Easter for tomorrow in any case.🙃 Nice to see God's Wonderful Railway getting in on the act.

At the time I was disappointed: a GW pannier tank from Banbury to Oxford… it might even have been Didcot or Reading. Not much of a loco I thought. But looking back it must have been right at the very end just before DMUs took over🤔.
