I have an N scale con cor version of this. It's pretty cool. The number on it is 2557 though the box says it's an S2. Therefore it's not modeled after a specific locomotive. No belpaire boiler either.

Very impressive and enjoyable history description of both classes of GN 4-8-4 engines, it's a true shame however that the Great Northern rr didn't save any of the S1 class locomotives from being scrapped, even though there were only 6 members of that class built.

I love 4-8-4 Northerns. They are the most popular wheel arrangement steam locomotives ever. I'm glad 2584 was preserved

The GN Never had hudsons they first had 4-6-0s then 4-6-2s and finally built the 4-8-2s.
