I live in Crossville and would love to go out with you sometime as I have never fished like this, mostly a bass fisherman.

GREAT CONTENT. I SURE MISS BEING HOME AND FISHING ALL THE PLACES YOU FISH. THE STEAM PLANT YIELDED ME SOME 40 TO 50LB ROCKFISH BACK WHEN I COULD FISH THE BANK. KEEP IT UP MAN AND THE SUBCRIBERS WILLCOME.

Your struggles launching the boat had me cracking up. But I also wondered why didn't you use your trolling motor with auto deployment? Another option is a Dakota boat retriever.

@@TopKnoxFishing look into Dakota boat retriever. I have one and it helped me a lot until I got the Ulterra. They have a sign up on carbide park where you did that channel cat fishing video. They are made right here in Oak Ridge.

I would like to fish the steam plants this winter. However, I live 150 miles away. Where can I go online to know if TVA is generating a warm water discharge. Is there an app or a phone number. I would assume the plant needs to generate warm water for a day or two to draw the bait fish in. Am I correct? How can I determine when to come to the steam plants? I grew up in Athens, TN and do most of my catch and release fishing in that area. Thanks for any help you have to share.

Only way to know is to look at the stacks and stick your hand in the water
@fishracer72 жыл бұрын
@@TopKnoxFishing oh that’s a real bummer. Here is a real opportunity for you to offer a service on your KZbin channel or Facebook site that no one else is offering. Can you see the smoke towers or do you have a friend that lives close enough to see the stacks daily and make a very simple report of smoke or no smoke. Please please consider this. Today is my 70th birthday and I feel I have a limited number of years left to fish comfortably and the steam plants are on my bucket list to fish. Since it costs so much for me to make a trip to the Knoxville/Kingston area ($100+ gas from Soc Sec budget and 5 hrs of driving in a day) I hope you will consider a way to make my dreams come true. Thanks for considering. Gary

The steamplants are very hit or miss when they are running. I'd probably recommend saving up some money and hiring a guide that can put you on fish even if they're off.
