Good job! Does Section I require full capacity or popping at pressure 3% over setting point?

Hi Great video you have there, can you confirm the lift pressure will always be lower when doing a hot test? If the valve in set to 10 bar on a cold test then the hot test will be 10 bar or less? also what medium are you using to test the valve? sorry for all the questions, cheers J

+Fly Above To answer your question about the lift pressure hot/cold, take a look at this article www.nationalboard.org/index.aspx?pageID=164&ID=379 . This article is written by Joseph F. Ball who is the director for the National Board Pressure Relief Department. To answer your second question, the mediums used to test the valve has to do with how the capacity is expressed. For valves whose capacity is expressed in GPM we use water. For valves whose capacity is expressed in scfm we use air. For valves whose capacity is expressed in lbs/hr we use saturated steam. Hopefully this answers your question! Thanks for commenting and please share this video!

Great,great.Many thanks. And what about Pressure Safety Valve testing frequency? Is it the same as a PRV ? Thank you very much to you all Americans.Greetings from north Algeria.

Can the blow down value for an aquaflow valve be set to five pounds. I have several of these on my steam engines and they blow down about 25 pounds or more. With a small boiler this really empties the boiler causing low water conditions. Kunkle used to make nice pop valves But I can't find them anymore. Is this something you can do and certify for our state inspectors? Thanks Kap

How often do you have to send the safety valve out to be tested?

Can an ASME V- stamped Section 1 safety valve rated in Lbs/Hr or PPH, be used on a Sect 1 high temp ‘water’ power boiler?
@wareboilers5 жыл бұрын
What temperature of water are you working with? You would need to know that to determine if you can use that safety valve. You would also need to know your maximum Pound Per Hour your boiler is running at as well. What I would suggest is give us a call 800.228.8861 so we can better get an idea on your situation and help you out where we can. Thanks for the comment!

Is it correct to perform opening tests on a steam valve using pressurized water?
@Daniel-fo2qf4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we use either high pressure air or water can be also used.

can we do an adjustment in online plant.? for supposed there is a continues simmer of steam and you want to exercise the spring supposed the spring got stuck.
@wareboilers7 жыл бұрын
For any adjustments to the valve you would want to get a professional valve tech to look at the valve. The best recommendation would be to give the Valve Shop a call at 1 (800) 228-8861 and ask for a Valve Shop representative. They would be able to give you the best recommendation to your problem. Thanks!

That's to test off line. Only a accumulation test on the boiler is a satisfactory test. Also I have never seen an inspector check what the firing rate of the boiler is when doing the test which as far as I am concerned is hopeless. For example, nozzle sizes and fuel pump pressure to determine the firing rate. Unless you know what that is , you are guessing.
