I always think if you live along Dunster, Bishops Lydeard or Wilton you are very lucky to see these marvels of engineering every day.

Some super shots in tricky conditions, what a lovely little loco 9351 has become in her converted state!

Thanks, Mark! Sure is a noisy little thing, quite fun over those gradients.

The first and last shots were of what appeared to be poorly patronised trains, but in the middle numbers seemed much better. Since then the May gala had excellent numbers: great. Thank you for bringing a worldwide audience (I'm in Oz, 17000km away) beautifully composed sequences. I especially loved how you featured the (fishtail, of course) distant signal.

Some nice shots, you could see the upgraded level crossing at Minehead, I still already miss the old crossing, but it was old and needed upgrades as it was from the 1990's.

Got a bit of a wobble on there Matthew, a bit windy round the tripod eh?!!!!!!😃😃 Middle section was good, 33057 looking resplendant in green, was hoping for a bit more Crompton noise but obviously the wind was against her☹ Oh yes, great steam scenes!!!😒

Frustratingly windy at times, but all things considered, the result could've been a lot worse. I had been hoping for 5199, to at least get the GW double, but a 33 is a nice substitute. Bit too powerful for flat track.

@TheSoutherner hard to tell but if the maroon QB diner set was in use there, the driver would know to have a gentle departure. Pity you didn't get it up Washford bank ;)

That wind looked a little challenging at times. Lovely steam effects in the opening shot, which made up for the noise from traffic that's unavoidable along there. So they have a new LED signal guarding the entrance to Minehead now? How modern.

The wind was a bit of a nuisance, especially when facing into it - leading to a few panning mistakes. If it keeps the link reliable, then it's worth living with for the reward.

Brilliant bit of filming. I wonder if the west Somerset could ever run trains into Taunton, perhaps similarly to how the Swanage railway plans to achieve Wareham services.

Every few years they suggest they're looking into it, lay out how they'd do it, then don't go further

Thanks very much! In terms of physicality it would be possible, whether it is financially viable (cost of upgrading stock to a mainline standard, whether there is the traffic demand to make it viable) is a different question
