So you may prim the steam trap by leaving one side (valve ) closed isolated, and the other slightly open to prime? Especially after installing a new trap?

@@wareboilers correct me if I'm wrong. Just reviewing the nature and function of an inverted bucket trap it looks like waste More Steam. It seems like the steam comes in from the bottom and comes in contact with the waters on the bottom of the bucket which means it's going to condense the steam to water and some steam will rise through the water to the top of the bucket and the vent. In other words it seems like the Trap is designed and engineered in a way to purposely condense some of the steam in order to keep it Primed. An F and T seems more effecient at this job.

Well what about a trap that’s constantly showing psi on the gauge and temps are ~340F at bucket and about 320F at the discharge line
