@tonyhakston5365 жыл бұрын
Can you explain it to me real quick?
@hakairyu15 жыл бұрын
Tony Hakston Using chips/PAs like that stops time, but only when you use it. So if you wanna start a turn with one while the enemy is in position, which happens often, you’ll start the turn and then press A, and the game will likely advance some frames before the button press registers, meaning time will start and immediately stop again.
@UltimaKeyMaster4 жыл бұрын

God, I really don't care for this steamed hams meme but this was pure nostalgic beauty for me. 0:04 - Okay who HASN'T done that? I love that so much. 0:40 - FireMan.EXE messing up the oven. 0:57 - A throwback to some of the "action cutscenes" the game devs didn't actually want to animate. Would usually involve a fade to black like this. 1:09 - "SprIntd" at the top right. At the start of battle you can see the enemy names at the top right of the screen. If they're really big they get chopped down like this, so you get "SprIntd" instead of "Superintendent". 1:10 - Oooh god, the moment that popped up I was instantly in love with this. Such a faithful recreation of Battle Network gameplay. EDIT: Look at the floor, here! (As pointed out by someone else!) ~ADDITIONAL NOTE ABOUT THIS SCENE~ In Battle Network you could only select more than one chip if all the chips shared the same code, or had the same name (for example you could select a bunch of K chips, or you could select multiple "StmdClam" chips even if they had different letter codes). Asterisk-chips are wildcards that can disobey these rules, that's why all the other cards went black when he selected the StmdClam chip, but not the Atk+10. 1:36 - And certain chip effects froze time for a moment while they activated, so chips like these couldn't be interrupted or dodged. They also darkened the scenery like shown here. 1:42 - And I am SUPER impressed that you kept an eye on making sure the Custom Gauge was also operating as per normal. ~ADDITIONAL NOTE ABOUT THE CUSTOM GAUGE~ In battle you could only enter the Chip Select screen if this Custom Gauge was full. It would have a randomly chosen set of 6 chips for you to pick from which carry over as long as they remain unused, so if you want to see new chips you have to use or discard some. Alternatively you could hit the "ADD" button if you didn't select any chips, and the next time the screen opened there would be MORE than six (I believe just +1 but I could be wrong). 1:46 - OH! That victory music! Good times... 2:15 - "Tasty (?)". Rofl. 2:58 - Aaah, that Battle-Network 3 Boss Music... One of my favorites. And I love how the superintendent just materializes in his chair the way boss characters would materialize onto the field. 3:17 - ANOTHER EXPLANATION: If you selected certain chips in a specific order they could combine to create a "Program Advance", a way stronger effect than all the chips together. You'd be notified if you did it correctly in this manner before the battle starts after you exit the Chip Select screen. Naturally it could be very difficult to actually put a Program Advance into your chip folder considering the chips have to have the same letter code (or be asterisk chips). 3:37 - I know that's just how it played out, but I love the fact that he uses his last chip as soon as the custom gauge is full. Reminds me of how I'd try to use up the chips in my hand before I went back to chip select (because you'd lose them if you went back to chip select without using them first). 4:26 - I fucking LOST it at this bit. Going for the LifeSword PA, checking the enemy's HP (he didn't actually leave chip select. You can press a button while in chip select to temporarily hide it and show you the field again, including enemy HP, in case you need to plan), and then cancelling for an Escape instead. (LifeSword is a strong program advance. Just a nice big sword slice across nearly the entire enemy stage. Hard to miss. Big damage). 5:09 - LavaStage. Lmao. Oh, man. Thank you so much. Good memories...

Infinite Lightnin I don’t think that’s what he meant He meant like the navi programs you had to install like the Press program to shrink you down to walk down those tiny paths, and the energy charge program to put out the fires on the net and what not in order to progress the story (which would take up space for other programs you could be using)

Man, can't appreciate enough the attention to detail and mood from MMBN series. The "..." at 2:43 reminded me of multiple sequences of that in game. Chalmers appearing like a BN boss (pixelated transition at 2:58) and slight battle movement between Program Advance screen and the Program Advance actual use... damn, it's been years since I played MMBN, but goddamnit I remember this from actual game. I want an alternate ending where he actually uses the LifeSword, even if it's just a cut to black with sound. It's too perfect. You need to do more such videos. The quality is nothing short of stellar and so is the attention to detail.

I was planning an easter egg where if you clicked OK, Skinner would have used LifeSword and I guess -kill- delete Chalmers? I didn't know where I would have gone beyond that, but that idea got scrapped because I remembered that KZbin killed off annotations last year (rip)

Little late, but this was an AMAZING version of steamed hams. Honestly I think this is hands down my favorite one. I loved the quality of editing, the way you implemented many aspects of MMBN into the meme, and laughed hard at the LifeSrd1 reference. Well done. Even keeping the codes the same that you'd find in the game was good. It looks like it's pulled from the actual game and edited from there, but either way still well done. Since the game was titled Steamed Hamwork 3, LifeSwrd would have done 400 HP of damage and won the fight still. However, in Battle Transmission, it only does 200 and would have left Chalmers with 10HP, enough to counterattack Skinner against his 1HP. On the contrary, all 3 swords combined do 240 damage if not advanced, so even in NT, this still would have killed Chalmers if this didn't advance. Although if you consider the fighting style of the BN games and the like, you're more likely to take a hit waiting for the cooldown of the i-frames the enemy has when you hit them with an attack that's not your buster so.. I guess I'm just reading into this way too much because I loved the BN series and this was a good callback to my childhood.

Late reply, I know. I Just wanted to say that although being an expert on how much damage life sword does may not give you any points in real life, I am impressed and inspired by your attention to detail. MM:BN 3 was the best. Have a good day.

@@karanoelle4819 well, I don't know enough people who share a nostalgia for the BN series. I loved the games so much as a child that it's likely that a portion of my personality was shaped by it.
