I was looking for videos like this because I dont want a Q Redew steamer and dont see other handheld hair steamers on market. I was thinking to myself, black women know how to make it work, gotta be someone that found a good handheld clothes steamer they're enjoying instead. They're pretty much the same design, just marketed different. You just need to find one that won't be too hot on your hair. Thanks so much for sharing yours and how you use it! 🤗

Great idea!!! I would've never thought to use a fabric steamer in lieu of an actual hair steamer. Great video!!!

Thanks! Yea, thankfully it actually worked really well. I was surprised! Just had to be super cautious initially because I wasn't sure how hot it would get!

Being Shelly B, thank you for stating this explicitly. I loved her product and thought it was a handheld HAIR steamer and that is what I searched under in Amazon. Because of your comment the mystery for me was solved. I was so thankful to read it. I was AHA! So THAT'S what that is, a GARMENT Steamer. I was able to go on Amazon and find a cute one that I wanted. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this video. I began steaming my hair more regularly because of your inspiration. It's nice to see from your example that caring for Type 4 hair can be simple and straightforward, efficient and pleasurable. I love my Type 4 hair, which is now about armpit length. By the way, I play relaxing videos daily to unwind before going to sleep, and this one is on that playlist. I truly benefit from your calming voice and peaceful demeanour. Your video is so impactful! :-) God bless you.

This steamer seems more practical compared to the other steamers i've seen. Very clever idea to use a fabric steamer. How long have you been steaming your hair? I think I may consider this if it will help me save a significant amount of time during my detangling sessions.
@EfficientlyNatural8 жыл бұрын
+herlucidsky, I started steaming my hair more recently, like over the last several months. It has definitely helped me save time for sure as well as unnecessary breakage from dryness.

I realize u use a fabric steamer to steam ur hair. it really isn't anything different from an ordinary hair steamer is it? bet it was cheaper too.
@ceresida7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your video! How is steaming different from spraying a curl-refresher product or plain water? My son got coily hair so I am trying to absorb all the good tricks and knowledge. Thanks!
@EfficientlyNatural7 жыл бұрын
+ceresida I like to think of it like a deep conditioning treatment since you are adding the heat component (i.e sort of like sitting under the dryer with a shower cap on after washing and applying conditioner for that extra bit of deep conditioning effect).
@akeaw6583 жыл бұрын
The water droplets from steam are smaller and penetrate the hair shaft much more easily than regular-sized water droplets. Some hair types, specifically low-porosity, have difficulty receiving regular water and would therefore benefit GREATLY from steaming.

Hi, new subbie. I love your hair. I've been natural for 3.5 years. My hair is long but not as long as yours. I noticed I have really think roots along the hair shaft but when it gets closer to the ends it is a lot thinner than the rest of my hair. What do you recommend. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Do you use usually keep twists or braids in you hair that long for 4 weeks? If so how often do you wash and detangle your hair?
@EfficientlyNatural8 жыл бұрын
+NaptuRo90 Yea, I definitely leave twists/braids in for that long or even longer sometimes. I don't have a regular wash routine but I'd say I typically wash and detangle every 2 weeks to 1 month. I'd love to do it more often but it can be so time consuming sometimes.

great video. I bought that steamer for my hair and i like that one better than other fabric steamers. the temperature is definitely not too hot when on the lowest setting. i tried 2 other steamers and they would drip boiling water, would be super hot and would go in all different directions.
