I really love this....even though the installation is time consuming, the fact that these can be kept in for up to a week (at least on my hair) is what would sell me. My hair starts getting extremely dry and tangled in the winter and I don't like wearing it out for this reason, but I don't always want to just do dutch braids or flat twists that wrap into a crown or a sleek bun either. Definitely going to take a weekend and try this style this winter, if it works, it'll become my go-to.

I braid first then twist. Depending on how I feel I'll turn the braid into 3 strand twists. Mind you , the twists shrink more. So loosely twist. When wet. Because they tighten , if you have fine baby hair it will break if you twist tight . If you decide to put the hair in a twisted bun don't pull and twist to tight towards the ends , fine hair will break. And you will have thinning. I am learning and it happened to me and I'm trying to recover. Braids , plats work for me as well but time and age prevents my hands from functioning the same .

This is very inspiring!❤I'm in my first year of dental school and always wanted to be a younger mom. This advice has been super helpful since I hope to have kids during dental school/residency.

They say not to use oil on your hair while using the revair... And that's your sister's drier. I'd be annoyed if someone did that to mine 😂

She put the oil on her hair after she did each section. Well, that's what I saw. 😁

I've locked since I first watched this video. Rewatching bc I *still* have this issue with my 14 month locs. Obviously, I can't redo my twists to minimize webbing at the root, but still nice to re-watch your video. On my surgical rotation. On my way to being you one day! Hope all is well.

Came across this video in my search for answers to help my wildness that grows on the nape of my neck. I've never heard of the kitchen reference but I come from a Mexican background. My hair grows along the two sides of my neck, similar to yours. It was helpful to see how you groom your hair. It's kind of nice to see others go through this as well. I've always felt I'm the only one out there with this mess. I may just have to give in to the idea of having to keep it groomed if I want. I did try waxing once. Ouch! And I've even used my epilator on that area. OOOOOOUUUUUCH! LOL it works though lol thanks for the tips! ❤

Very informative video. I never used to remove shed hair before washing my twists now I know that is one caused of me getting tangles. I don’t stretch my hair before twisting either, maybe I should incorporate that.

This made me tear up!!! I have a nine month old who I had during my intern year of my current internal medicine residency. It was so heartwarming to hear your experiences. I relate a ton to the struggles with sleep and pumpimg at work and the night shifts with a newborn at home. Thank you for sharing your story. I love hearing physicians talk about how they are prioritizing their families! Thank you!

I’m a white woman, and I’ve never heard the hair at the nape of the neck called a kitchen. I think it’s cute. I’ve only ever heard it called a low neck hairline. Mine is very low, and it feels unattractive. I’ve shaved it a couple times, but I don’t like it when it starts to grow back and develops trouble like ingrown hairs. I also hate the way it looks when I decide to let it grow back in. I’ve seen some videos of people waxing the area. Thank you for making this video. My hair couldn’t be more different from yours, but I think the technique you’ve shown here might help me too.

Truth is not every growth technique is for everyone. I experienced so much growth during my wash and go years. Now that I mostly wear my hair in protective styles due to time restraints, my hair growth has slowed down tremendously.

I don't have kinkier hair and I don't know if I have a kitchen or not but, I'm quite annoyed with my neck hair and this tutorial helped me and helped me feel better about if its not perfect. You did a really good job on your hair and I think its very well styled. I shaved a lil of my neck hair because I couldn't wear it in a pony tail without complete frustration.

Thank you so much for being honest about how work and life can get in the way of taking care of your hair. Very vulnerable thing to share that i know most naturals have experienced to some degree even if they won't admit it. I love my hair, but some days, i can't even fulfill my basic needs with the time I have, so thank you for sharing that 💜

Hello, thanks for the video! Do you still use this dryer? Have you experienced any breakage as a result of using it? I am thinking of getting this but wanted to get an idea of what the long term use does to your hair. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks

Thank you. This was a very clear explanation and enlightening for me. I have heard this statement in my classroom and I knew one student was “digging” another but I honestly did not know what the issue/dig was about. I am a causation women but I deal with nape hair that makes me uncomfortable because it is so out of control and have been embarrassed by my nape grooming at various stages in my life too.
