Steaming vegetables while I'm camping is now so easy
This is my home made camping veggie steamer, It was such a simple gadget to make for steaming veggies on the campfire.
It's the best way to steam vegetables camping that i have made.
I really like simple camp gear setups.
This simple camp cooking gadget makes life so much easier when it comes to steaming vegetables on the campfire.
This very cheap vegetable steamer in my view, is the best way to steam vegetables camping while I'm out camping in the bush.
The same style veggie steamer has been used in so many house hold kitchens over the years, now that same simple camp cooking gadget is being used on the campfire for steaming anything from veggies, dim sims, dumplings and what ever else you want to steam cook on the campfire.
There's probably so many simple camp cooking gadgets that people are making or buying, but this simple camp cooking veggie steamer is well worth making to cook all of your steamed cooked food on the campfire.

Ah I love this Tim, cooking on location at "Bates riverside restaurant" I have steamed vegies plenty of times, but your idea of the wire hooks added to steamer to enable more water in the billy is brilliant mate, ......you not as dim as you sim.

Its a great hack Timbo, i'll be pinching that idea mate. Love Gyoza pan fried and steamed or just steamed, drop of Soy. Lovely. I don't boil or steam veggies in the bush so far, just chop them all up and into the hot skillet with a drop of olive oil and spice, we get plenty of capsicums, snow peas, cabbage, onion, spuds and carrots this way but it can get a little boring after day five lol. Steaming is a new option mate. Love the mash idea also. Nice one mate. Cheers Moose.

I never said i invented it. I have never ever seen one like i have being used while camping. Going by the replies, so many think its a great idea and are going to make one. End of the day, if my simple steamer helps others out with an idea, thats all im trying to do. Thanks for your reply. Cheers Tim.
