I started making an art journal quite some time ago and have been dragging my feet on getting it put together because all of the tutorials that I found were stitched bindings and I really didn't want to go that route. The album your sister made is awesome! I make art journals using old book covers, and I love to use Gaffer tape as the to create the new spine. It's much like duct tape, but it has a matte finish vs. the shiny finish duct tape has. Though I hand bind the pages, this technique you show is awesome. It would be a great way to bind loose pages. Thanks for the share.

What a great use of duct tape. :) also saves your good adhesive supply for the detail work. I found doing albums I would run out of score tape and its more expensive then duck tape.

I agree, you do have a wonderful voice. I have a question which may have already been asked here earlier: Doesn't the duct tape binding get gooey and stick to everything it comes near, after having opened the book over time??? That is the number 1 thing I HATE about needing to repair anything with it. I know that it is the rage lately to make things with it, so how do you AVOID that problem? i think duck tape and tyvec is the best way to go for binding. the cardstock will rip off at the folds after a while.
