In 2016 the ARTEFFECTS team visited the High Desert Steam Con to learn all about Steampunk, and art and culture that incorporates technology and designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. The Steampunk movement started in the 80s as a way for people to combine their love for history and the infinite possibilities of fantasy.

Yeah, I’m a redneck logger type of the gen X genre…. But steam punk seems fun. I grew up through the punk rock scene but I never dressed up. Enjoyed the music….. started listening to Metallica around 1988. But I never dressed up…. I could so do this😂

Oh Yer! Give me Steam Punk.....half way there already....all my life.People used to laugh at me for liking long skirts and dresses in the miny dress days😮 ( I refused a lot to wear them ,my husband got nasty about it), but I mostly stuck to MY STYLE ,and I still love the lovely long style.😊 have steam punk jewlary I made,and love the hats ......very Victorian Grandmother taught me a lot some people think I am weird,and I even heard 2 women comment on my dress sense,when shoping....downer !👎 I ignored them as busy bodies with no sense of fun or individualism.
